La mort de la pourpre- Georges Rochegrosse

It's interesting that I was sent this painting... Thank you for sending me this. As far as my limited knowledge goes, this painting is from 1914, a critical point in time, on the year WWI started. Georges Rochegrosse is already an artist known for his masterful use of symbolism and his large-scale, dramatic compositions. This painting in particular represents the decline of nobility and grandeur in the face of industrialization and war. Through symbolism (the dying, or dead, figure clad in noticeably ancient clothing, with the lyre, and the laurel with purple accents. The industrial city silhouette painted with dull, cold colors, the grieving figure in modern clothing...etc.) it portrays the clash and contrast between ancient ideals and modernity and the grim reality of a war further fueled by industrialization. Grief is a clear emotion one can pinpoint when looking at the artwork. It is poignant, and complex. 🪻☀️

Just went to six flags!!!! Went mostly empty handed, coming back with beautiful son. Accepting name ideas btw.

Dudes I love this song so much, it's so silly it makes me so happy and I can't explain why. At the park there was also this REALLY FREAKING AWESOME PERSON WITH WOLF(?) EARS AND THEY WERE SO NICE OMFG THEY WERE SO COOL!!!! THEIR TAIL EVEN WAGGED!!!!!!!! AUGHHH SO FREAKING COOL, I CANT WAIT RO ONE DAY GET A SUIT OF MY OWN OH MY GOD!!!!!

Oh yeah and we went on the superman, both my friends fuckin died but lowkey I went on an adrenaline high and felt like I was on straight crack for the next like 15(?) minutes.. Freaking awesome trip chat!!!

If you aren't dead on your feet at the end of the day did you even have fun? Something bout going on rides that feel like they may kill me makes so soooo apprecitive of the fact I am alive, and I love so many things!!!!!!!!

Ok as the resident Metal Sonic fangirl in these parts, let me make something clear.

If he's gonna talk, have it be like Neo Metal.

And if he IS gonna talk like Neo Metal, make him the main villian.

I want them to get REALLY Sonic Heroes with it.

I want "What I'm Made Of" blasting in the cinema. I want bad future Stardust Speedway motifs in Metal's scenes.

I need him to be competent, but still lose to the power of teamwork. Because that's what Sonic the fucking Hedgehog IS, cool villians being defeated through cheesy bullshit.

rant post? probably? but i find it extremely frustrating to not be able to relate with this fandom's thoughts about the traveler. like i have a hard time with soaking in with them depicting the traveler's love and despair and not being able to do anything, and its guilt, and its love again; i comprehend its motivations but can't feel empathy for it. of course i might get backlash because this entire fandom cares and loves so much what the traveler is and what it represents, and i respect that, but i can't share the feeling. i don't know whether it's on how i was raised without much restraints. i don't know if that's because my morals were not built on religions until now. i don't know if those are also the reasons why i focus mainly on the civilizations it had to abandon/had failed, and these civilizations' right to feel anger and sorrow at it; maybe that's why i keep feeling indifferent about its benevolence even when i should not, probably. i don't know really. i just can't wrap my head around this.

Another realization

So I’ve been rewatching Kaguya-sama because the manga is done and I want to watch everything before finishing the manga. I got to season 3 and I noticed that the art style during the est is quite different. I’ve been letting the whole episode play but often ignore the ost and est and I just listen to the songs. This time tho, I watched the est properly. I realized that it has a storyline and it’s based on that one episode where Shirogane wanted to watch the moon. They got to talking about the story of Princess Kaguya and how if it was Shirogane in that positiuon then not only would he wait but also find a way to get to the moon to get to Princess Kaguya. That was the exact plot of the S3 est but mecha! I am once again reminded why I love this series so much! The animation, the storyline and the concept were all so amazing, that if it was to become it’s own movie then I think it would make quite a profit! Anyways, that’s all. Just needed to get my thoights out hehe

I usually like to watch things myself (to judge them properly, of course) but this... Is a diferent category.

It's painful to watch. Even if it wasn't about Middle Earth– no, I don't even feel like describing it. But I can mention the top of the iceberg. Shame about the beautiful music, Bear McCreary is a great composer. What have they done to Galadriel? She doesn't inspire an ounce of respect, why does she looks and behaves like a petulant, spoiled child all the time? Where is the grace and wisdom and elegance of the elves? Why are they so earthly and human? The high king looks like Peter Venkman with a roman twist... Most males look so modern it's embarrassing... The stones, looking down... They sink becaude they–

Because they look down.

And you haven't seen– what I've seen... Told to the man with the gift of foresight...

Galadriel, being chastised by her (of course younger than her) future son-in-law... Although I suppose LOTR, the actual LOTR, is fucked at this point because so far I see no Galadriel's husband, much less a daughter, so, for starters, Arwen will never exist and it's all downhill for approximately the moment it begun.

So did anybody else watch episode 11 and go from “Wow I LOVE this animation style and cats are always great” to Exceptionally Sad really really fast? Also there was a point where I yelled out loud “David Tennant?!??” but didn’t recognize Michael Sheen’s voice initially so shame on me but What A Cast!!!! anyhow that was a great little short 10/10 would watch again
