the woman hadn't been seen in public since her photo was leaked but there were only so many days she could keep herself in her house, it getting more and more of a mess as she wasn't cleaning anything up. the sun was unexpected and emmeline found herself enjoying it. sitting down on the grass to regain her strength, she spent a few moments squinting before putting on her sunglasses. a soft exhale left her as she felt the most relaxed she had been in a while. there was no doubt that medication was playing a part in it as well as her joy of getting her volunteer job but at this moment, the woman felt lighter. "lovely out, isn't it?"

emmeline was still on her first drink, sipping at it when her eyes caught the sight of brielle. "brielle, hi. how are you doing?" it was probably the wrong question to ask at something like this but nothing else had come to her in the moment. it felt like she'd not checked in with people in a long, long time - sasha's death still didn't feel real, then bohdi was gone too and it was too much to process. the woman had kept to herself, only going to her vounteer work, home, therapy, to the shops then back. even that was exhausting her. there was something seriously wrong with her. she'd disconnected for a moment, despite having a somewhat normal evening, flinging herself at douglas, her friend's husband. she could have sworn she felt something between the two of them, something that prompted her to try to kiss him but she had a history of attempting to do that when there was no reciprocation of the other's side. although she was glad that he'd rejected her, that's what had occured - rejection, something emmeline felt too much of. tears were building in her eyes but the woman was trying her best to keep everything internal. once she saw brielle, she made an effort to smile and wave, unable to speak in the fear that the flood gates would open.
