“ I could’ve saved my rants for someone else. Listen, I don’t like him. I don’t think I ever will, but I like you. You’re my friend, and yes -- maybe I’m upset that you wouldn’t tell your friend about something that is definitely bigger than you make it seem to be. When you have feelings for someone it’s big -- whether it’s official or not. And the thought of ranting about this person for you... I wouldn’t want that for my friend. ” Alicia shrugged. “ I don’t know. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a situation like that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone casually. ”

“ Oh, yeah. For sure. ” Alicia chuckled. When her former babysitter noted that she still remembered how she was a little girl, Alicia let out a soft laugh. “ Yeah, it’s pretty great that my babysitter is now drinking at a Halloween party with me. ”

Jon Snow’s about to wrangle himself out of a tight hold,” Selah smiled, shaking her head. “Distraction is right. Everyone keeps asking if I’ve tried out the haunted house yet but I’m not even entertaining the idea of all those strangers touching me.”

“ Definitely not. This is part of our entertainment tonight, isn’t it? We deserve a little drama served on the side. ” Alicia chuckled. “ Yeah, I’m with you on that one. I might try it out later. After a couple of drinks. ”

Was I supposed to ask for permission to date him?” her brow creased. “I met him before your show started. At first I didn’t even know you were in the same show and by the time I put two and two together, I didn’t know if it was big enough to tell you.”

“ What? No, of course not. All I’m saying is that a little head’s up would’ve been nice. Especially if you knew him before the show started. I mean, what’s a little ‘hey, so that dude you’re complaining about? I know him and I kinda like him maybe’? It would’ve been no effort whatsoever and I would’ve shut my mouth a long time ago. ” Alicia shook her head at the other’s comment. “ What do you even mean with that? Not big enough to tell me? What the hell do you think I would’ve done? ”

And honestly, I didn’t know it would be like this, and if it was just one date, I didn’t want to freak you out because I know how you feel about him. I sort of pulled it together. I found the dress online but Peyton helped with the flower crown.”

“ Am I though? From what I can see, you sat there, listening to me complain about that guy constantly probably. All the while you’d probably head out over to his place after. And then what? Just forget about it while making out with the very same guy I was ranting to you about? Do you not realise how that all might make me feel? I’m not angry. I’m just -- sad, I guess. ” Alicia shrugged. “ That’s sweet of her. It’s lovely. ”

“ Oh, please. People like these guys are all about the attention. The more, the juicier. But, you’re definitely right in saying we need a distraction from all of that. ” Alicia gestured to the source of the screams. “ All the more fun, right? I’m assuming Jon won’t go down without a fight. ”

Selah: I know you have shows I'm not that terrible! Congrats again! But are you usually busy during the day too? Because I'm really craving cheesecake and this place I'm thinking of closes by three.

Alicia: Good good. Thanks! I still teach dance classes, but I have lunch hours off, so we can do cheesecake for lunch? Sounds like a pretty good lunch to me :p
