Now that we know Kora’s name.. Can we maybe learn some more about her? :D ❤️

Of course! I’ve been wanting to talk about this little girl for so long!

So it’s not super obvious but in the comic Kora is deaf in her left ear. She can manage fine with one but does make conversations more difficult, it can be painful sometimes too. However, Donnie always makes sure to go on her good side and doesn’t mind repeating himself. (He thinks she’s perfect and just wants to hug her when she gets frustrated).

Another thing is Kora is the only panda at the orphanage. There is no one like her so she feels really alone. When she was first brought there she quickly discovered that she hated sleeping in the common room with everyone else. So she found comfort in the library and chose to sleep in one of the empty boxes piled in the back. There she hides from the night patrol and the discomfort of the world she lives in.

Finally Kora wonders about the outside world a lot. That’s where all her books come from, where the grand adventures she reads about take place, and where she is supposed to belong. She knows she had a history out there, someone had to be looking after her before she was at the orphanage, otherwise how did she learn to read? And if she could learn how to read out there, then how could she not remember the family she lived with? All she can see are flashes or images, vague colors or words but nothing strong enough to be considered a memory. She’s thought about sharing this with Donnie, but she’s too nervous, and also disappointed that she can’t remember more. All she can do is dream and hope that something will change, and she can one day find the place she belongs to.

This was so much fun to talk about, if you can’t tell I love Kora. I wanted to incorporate these things more into the story naturally but I know if I do that this comic will never be finished lol. If you made it this far thank you so much for reading and I hope you have a great day/night :]
