My suggestion would be not to start charging for profit until you’re happy with how the photos are coming out :) charge enough to keep your PS going for now so you can continue practicing, then make sure your product is measuring up for full-price.
I agree.. but I also took that girl's photos after I first got my camera, which was months ago. I've already cleaned up my editing and been practicing on my lighting and I'm 5000x more happy with what I've been doing since then.
I don't think my photos are bad at all, I just know they're not professional and so I don't feel comfortable charging because of my lack of experience. And, honestly, when I say that my ability "isn't that great", I'm comparing myself to people who've been photographers for years and have been doing it as their main income for years...and that's not fair to my abilities because I've only had my camera since June and it's more of a hobby that can bring in some extra cash...ya'know?
That's why I was only talking about charging $20-ish per session after getting the experience because the cheapest part-time photographer I've found was $50 and they give a lot less photos than what I do. Because I'm so new and still inexperienced when compared, I don't deserve full-price. But I'd still like something for giving my time is all.
Thank you for the input! :)
