little talks | regulus & marlene
Ever since that fateful night at the Burrow, when the Death Eaters attacked, Marlene had put her thoughts into actions. Since she wasn't there to actively fight at the moment, she had felt the guilt eat away at her. It was the worst feeling in the world, especially when she heard of the people who had died and had gotten hurt. She can still remember how she felt when she heard when Lily had been crucioed and she can still remember Sirius' bare skin that was stained red from his own wound when she saw him in the Order meeting room.
One thing that had stuck out in her mind, though, was Sirius. Of course, he was always in her mind, having wormed his way in from the moment they decided to fool around and through the years, he's become more and more prominent in her life. Sure, she's been on loads of dates, tons of snogging and an occasional roll around in the bed, but never one that lasted as long as Sirius and herself had. They weren't even in a relationship. He wasn't the dating type. And while she had tried dating, it never lasted. She'd have a few snogs, maybe one night in bed with them, but it was always Sirius that she came back to.
And that's why she can't get the way he looked after encountering Regulus. And that's why she was taking it upon her self to find Regulus, get him alone and try and talk to him. After all, he was Sirius' brother and Andromeda's cousin. Surely there must be some good in him. He couldn't be all that bad. If Sirius and Andromeda could break away from the family, then maybe Regulus could, too. Granted, it'd be much different now, seeing as he had the Dark Mark, but if Marlene could get him to switch sides, she'd help him. Just like she's sure that anyone else would.
This is important to Sirius, is probably important to Andromeda and while she knows that this is probably a really stupid idea, but she's going to try it anyway. Sirius will always be hurt by this and until it's fixed, it's always going to haunt him. And Marlene hated seeing that haunted look on his face, one so full of sadness that it made him look years older than he already was. She just wanted him to smile and be as happy as he was back in Hogwarts. That's the way the world should be, not the way it is now, with divided sides and own families at war.
She had been trying to find ways to get to Regulus, thought about sending him letters, or perhaps camping outside of the Black household in order to find him. It was a chance of luck that she ended up seeing him, across the street in Diagon Alley. At first, Marlene does a double take, unsure if it is really him, but no, it was the one and only Regulus Black. Jumping into action, she quickly crosses the road, then places herself next to him. She walks a few paces with him, before grasping his arm and tugging him off into an alleyway. "Don't whip out your wand, Black, I just need to talk to you, alright?" She tells him, as she drags him where they can be alone. There, in the shadows, she lets him go, eyeing him and keeping her wand hand close to her pockets. She's not sure if he'll listen or if he'll hex her, but she's prepared for anything. "Just hear me out, yeah?"
