giving  a  soft  groan  ,  he  placed  his  fingers  at  his  temples  before  glancing  up  at  his  companion  who  was  nestled  up  in  the  rafters  of  his  ship  .  ‘  could  you  PLEASE  be  a  little  less  helpful  ?  ’  he  asked  ,  leaning  against  the  console  ,  head  down  &&  trying  to  think  .  ‘  all  this  incessant  talking  is  going  to  give  me  an  EARLY  DEATH  .  &&  i  was  hoping  to  go  see  star  wars  this  weekend  .  ’   he  cleared  his  throat  &&  glanced  tentatively  at  the  scanner  before  dipping  his  head  down  again  .

       No smile was brighting the Doctor’s features. Actually, any        type of EMOTION was displayed at all.       That made him        somehow---- dangerous.

All of his previous jobs had gone terribly, so he needed to make this one work. His other jobs would have been fine...if it weren't for the name on his arm. He was in his fifties now, and all of his friends had found their soulmates. But he hadn't. He was still searching.

New years has never really applied to them - it’s never really had any importance. As a Time Lord, he’s seen more than his fair share and he’s certain she has as well. Still, this one feels a little different to the rest of them. They’re on Earth and it’s the 34th Century. She’s behaving, so far as he’s aware. That, and she’s been a rock since he’d told her about Gallifrey and the confession dial. He owes it to her to give her a chance.

He sees this as their fresh start.

Perhaps it’s the excitement of the people around him, or perhaps it’s the thought of them having a shot at rekindling their friendship - it doesn’t really matter. As soon as the Time Piece chimes midnight, the Doctor’s turned to face her, cupped her face in his hands and leaned in, lips pressed against hers in a lingering kiss.

So, he's looking thoughtful. Could be interesting. "Tell me what you're thinking."

That was the question  wasn’t it? Sometimes his mind ran so fast he didn’t even know what he was thinking about. So many ideas are firing off at once that he has to take a second and collect them all. 

“I’m thinking it’s time we go home. We’ve been running for far too long. I miss it.”

That was mostly a lie. He did not miss it one bit but he did miss his people.

He wants to take her to the beach. The absurdity of it all makes her chuckle and warmth blossoms in her chest. Missy's arms come around him then, embracing. "Anywhere, my dear." She turns her head to kiss his cheek. "Are you sure you can handle that?" She teases, playful. "Having me hanging about every day?"

“Just an excuse to see you in a bikini.” The Doctor chuckles, half serious, his grin widening and becoming more cheeky. “I suppose if I can’t I could always just throw you in the ocean.” He leans down the short distance to kiss Missy’s nose. “I’m sure I’ll manage to find us interesting things to do. The universe is vast, can’t possibly be so boring that it would colour my opinion of you.” Picking up Missy carefully in his arms the Doctor strides over to the console, setting her down on it, and inputting the coordinates. “Summer fun here we come.”
