Brin Milo (Gaunt's Ghosts)
I know Both/Neither.
Brin Milo, The Fool
The Fool represents innocence, freedom, and adventure. He has begun a journey, full of hope and possibility. This journey will challenge him to look into as well as beyond himself and find meaning through his experiences.
“Milo seemed to tremble. ‘I am considered by many to be a misfit. Some of the Tanith don’t like to have me around. I am not like them...
‘I’m not a soldier.
‘...They’re all soldiers. That’s why they’re here, that’s why they survived the fall of Tanith. They were all new-founded Guards... But I’m not. I’m a civilian. I shouldn’t be here. I shouldn’t have survived. The Tanith see me and they think “Why did that boy survive? Why is he here?” ...I represent a possibility of survival denied to them all.’”
Ghostmaker (The Founding Omnibus pg 520)
"The last few unquiet souls of a dead world. And I suppose we'll keep on going until we're all done." - Dermott Caffran, Tanith First and Only My Gaunt's Ghosts models, painted to the best of my ability Rather pleased with these ones, always wanted to paint the ghosts, now I can happily say I have
I have not wanted to fight an author more than I want to fight Dan Abnett right now

Ghostmaker Spoilers
What I find hilarious is that nobody has actually *confirmed* that Brin Milo is not psychic.
We know that:
The weevil--shell-game-thing did not involve psychic powers.
The storm was not caused by Milo.
But Lilith never directly checked! The ‘anticipating’ thing could just be plain old smarts, but it could be psychic powers. Milo just might be one of the lucky psykers who’s naturally good at the whole ‘not being eaten by daemons’ thing,
The Sabbat Worlds are evidently trapped in some sort of time-space abberration. Or at least Brin Milo is.
At the beginning of First and Only , Milo is 16. At the beginning of Ghostmaker, chronologically set *before* First and Only, he is 17. By the end of Ghostmaker, chronologically *after* the other data points, he is 18.
Something, somewhere, went wrong there.
@the-fluffy-underbelly Happy Sketch Saturday!
Brin Milo is trying to play the pipes while drunk. TRYING.
Based off a conversation @lookashiny and I had yesterday. (”just imagine milo with a look of drunk concentration and consternation trying to make a noise other than horrible squawks“ “but everyone else is pretty drunk, too, so they just cheer him and egg him on”)
Also, look who’s experimenting with pen! I’m still not spectacular, but I’m hating pen less than I used to.
