Monday is Ariel’s 5th birthday.

I’m thinking about Ariel and Kfir today, and every day, and about the over 100 other hostages.

There’s never a justification for stealing the precious life of a toddler and a baby.

We need them home, now.

On this #NationalDogDay, I’m reminded of the incredible bravery of Tonto, the loyal dog of the Bibas family. When the unimaginable happened, and Hamas men came to kidnapped his family, Tonto stood his ground, protecting them until his last breath. He was shot by Hamas, but his courage will never be forgotten.

Tonto’s fight isn’t over. We carry his spirit with us as we work tirelessly to bring the Bibas family and all the hostages back home. Rest in power, Tonto. Your mission is now ours.

Hamas has requested for Marwan Barghouti to be released from Israeli prison during the first phase of the hostage deal.

That means he would be released on exchange for women and children, like one-year-old baby, Kfir Bibas.

Marwan Barghouti killed innocent civilians during the Second Intifada. How does the world accept that Baby Kfir’s life should depend on his freedom?

We need a deal to end this war and release the hostages, but the price Israel is forced to pay is heartbreaking. I don’t want more wars, more hostages, more innocent civilians dying. But you must understand the sacrifices Israel is making to end a war we haven’t started.
