So..

Read this fantastic little book called Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore.

It was just what I needed to quench my thirst of Regency era tales. I started reading it again after finishing it in 6 hours. This time, I wanted to pour over the words, and imagine what this could look like if Joe Wright were turning this into a film.

Anyways! I have got a few of the characters lined up with actors I see in my mind so whenever Joe decides to direct this, I hope he uses this as inspiration 😉

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So I read this books two weeks ago but I need to weeks to process my emotions about it. I am wholeheartedly converted to #historicalromance lover and it is mostly thanks to #bringingdowntheduke the book was so lovely and full of interesting characters, a brooding love interested. I couldn’t help but read this book in one sitting. I am so happy I purchased this book as well all the others in the series. I had plans today; big productive plans. Did I do any of them? No, I did not. Like a fool, I said to myself this morning that I would start a book that had been sitting on my TBR pile since September while I enjoyed my morning tea. The tea was drunk, but “Bringing Down the Duke” and I remained together until it was finished. For the curious, it’s a great book. Romance is not my favorite genre, but this one subverted the classic romance tropes we find all too often in the historical romance novel. The result is a funny, romantic, and -at times- poignant book that can be enjoyed by the romantic and the cynical alike. Yellow everyone 🤗 I’m posting late because my car lights went out and I’ve been trying to fix them and now my hands are all messed up 😂 why do they make such tiny spaces! Doesn’t make sense. Anyway, I’m currently reading Darkdawn very VERY SLOWLY. Maybe I’m scared? I had a great time reading Bringing Down the Duke by @evietheauthor (https://amzn.to/2PPbNo4). It hit my emotions a lot harder than I expected and didn’t quite follow the typical ‘rules’ of Historical Romance. I especially loved the ‘sufferage’ theme running through the story. Do you enjoy historical romance? I love Regency era romance, both the Austen-y and smutty variety. 😂 Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore was a delight to read! It was more on the side of bodice ripping historical romance but not as explicit as some I’ve read. This would be a great introduction to the genre.⠀ .⠀ This a romance between Duke of Montgomery Sebastian and country girl bluestocking Annabelle. I loved Annabelle so much. She’s desperate to go to college and has a passion for the women’s suffrage rights in England. These two had some serious chemistry and I loved every moment.⠀ .⠀ “Her smile was steely. “Perhaps this is not a question of staying out of trouble, Your Grace.
