Dean wakes up to the radio alarm blasting Asia's music. He reaches over to the bedside table and shuts it off. He recalls last night's events. Kevin being killed by the angel he thought was Ezekiel. He remembers burning Kevin's body, just like a real hunter. With Cas by his side, Dean burst into a fit of hysterics, which is calmed by his angel. The last thing he remembers is Cas brushing his forehead, and everything going black.
He swings his legs off the bed and walks to the bathroom, thinking of how he will find Sammy and get that angel out of him. Exorcise an angel, he muses, who woulda thought?
As he washes his hands, a single tear runs down his cheek into the pool collecting in the sink. He misses Kevin. He wants to go back and save him, change the past.
He leaves his room to go find Cas, but upon entering the bunker library, he finds the prophet sitting at the table, tablet in hands, eyes red from the long night studying it.
"Morning Dean," Kevin mutters, "Sleep well?"
"Kevin?!" Dean nearly shouts, "You're here!"
"Uh, yeah," Kevin looks nervous, "Where would I be? Disneyland?"
"B-b-b-but, you were gone. You were dead! How are you here?" He goes and grabs the prophet by the shoulder, just to make sure he's really there.
"Dean, I have no idea..." Kevin begins, but he is interrupted by the sight of a short man entering the room. He saunters in with a grin on his face, sits down at the table and his gaze slowly moves up to Dean's face.
"Surprise!" he exclaims, "Betcha thought you'd seen the last of me!" Dean smiles as he recognizes the soft face, the silly grin with the end of a lollypop handle sticking out.
"Gabe!!" Dean runs to the other side and pulls the angel into a warm embrace.
"He came shortly after the funeral last night," Cas comes into the room, "Said we can make it all better. He even helped me exorcise Gadreel from Sam."
"Sammy? He's better?" Dean's green eyes flash with hope, and he starts towards Sam's room.
"Yes, but he needs his rest," Cas replies, "A few more hours should suffice."
Dean beams at the two angels, "I could kiss both of you right now."
"Thank goodness," Gabe says, "I've been waiting for you to offer for forever," he winks at Dean, who settles for a hug.
"Wait... what happened last night?" Kevin asks.
