This Art Deco bar is mobile and designed to be moved about. Have your butler bring it poolside, bedside or wherever else you may need a cocktail. Have a great weekend! #ididntknowineededone #artdeco #decoera #artdecobar #mobilebar #brisbanevintage #brisbaneantiques #bringmeadrink #ineedabutler (at The Antique Guild)
H-town
The past three weeks in Houston have flown by. They do that. I am so excited to be headed home, but Houston is always a hopping place with this job. All of us mobile PROACTs are based out of Houston, and we all stay at the same extended stay hotel, meaning there are always new friends to make and old friends to catch up with. My favorite part is the diversity of people I meet!
My time in Houston started off with a visit from Phil! We adventured all over the city, had good ole’ Texas barbeque twice (to convince Phil the south is in fact a wonderful place) and Thai food (to convince Phil we should move to Thailand). You can guess which was more successful. You win some you lose some, right?
We also visited the Natural Science Museum, because of the rave reviews from friends, and because we like nature and consider ourselves scientists. It was excellent! However, the parking spot we found was a distance away on a random side street (not in the shade). When we left the museum, (in the heat of the day, mind you) we wandered for miles and miles (humor me) in the relentless Houston sun, occasionally hallucinating that we found our car.
“Is that our car?”
“Not even close, Annelle.”
“It’s okay. We’re gonna be okay. We can get through this.”
“I’m not sure Houston is a good place.”
“This is a terrible place. Why do people even live here?”
“ahhhh! so. hot.”
“I can smell you.”
We did finally find our car. By this time we were both damp and smelly, and slightly loopy from heat exhaustion. At the first gas station we passed, we veered to the other side of the road and stopped. Then trudged inside and started raiding the closest cooler for water bottles.
“These aren’t very cold.”
“At least it’s water. We are going to live!”
The friendly gas station employee showed us to the back where he was keeping the colder water. The smarter Houstonians had beat us to the cold waters in the front cooler. We bought a bag full of water bottles and Phil let me have the only chair in the gas station. We (I) collapsed and guzzled water and slowly started to regain normal functioning abilities.
I spent the rest of my time in Houston indoors.
i will not do anything today
when it gets to the last day of the holidays, I have been busy all week so my floor has turned into my washing basket/wardrobe/pile to throw whatever the fuck I cant be bothered putting away on. Should probably tidy up today. Also haven't done any of my college work all week lol, might not find it so funny tomorrow morning when i still havent done it.
I might aswell just admit now that I am not going to do any of this today because I cant be bothered. so thats done.
Now im sat in bed with a bottle of sprite next to me but because sam ALWAYS screws bottle tops on really tight, i have no idea why its just so unnecessary but he does and so now I cant have a drink because i cant unscrew it and im not getting out of bed no way. My brother has tried to unscrew it too and he cant do it either!
erghhhhhh.
