M really wanted to see Covington, and we finally made it over there on their final morning. The town really does have some charming buildings and Cedar is in one of them. We had an amazing breakfast there before M&M hit the road. I was sad to see them go.
This afternoon was Northside Day. On the drive over I saw Cincinnati State, which I didn't realize is a thing, and so many interesting buildings along Hamilton Avenue. My main destinations were Downbound Books and Brink Brewing.
(Not sure why I didn't take more photos; I guess because I was driving and it was raining.)
Downbound is SUCH a great shop and the staff were so knowledgeable about authors as well as small publishers. It reminded me of A Cappella Books in Atlanta, and that is a high compliment.
I walked out of there like Pretty Woman on Rodeo Drive. Still, I have to save some of my literary spending for other booksellers in town - I'm just getting started.
Brink has been on my list for two years and it was worth the wait. I often ask at breweries, "Where else must I go?" and so many of them recommended Brink. A lot of their festival medals hang behind the bar. "Nice decor," I told the barkeep.
