Stature - What's your OC's body type? How tall are they? Do they wear clothing to accentuate their look or do they try to mask it?

Salt - they’re pretty mid-height, somewhere around 5’5-5’6, and very athletic and fit from daily swimming, sailing, and yoga. They have good muscle definition and are particularly proud of their back/shoulders, abs, and ass. They love to show off their body so their outfits are very flattering! Their lace-up leather pants show off their hips and ass soooo well. Their tops or dresses tend to be looser and open to balance the pants (and show off their chest/shoulders), and so they don’t sweat as much.

Briony - they’re just a bit taller than average, probably around 5’7 and fit in the frustrating way of someone who’s never had to work for it. They have an hourglass figure and softer muscle definition. They absolutely show off their figure when they want to, enjoying seducing people with their feminine wiles. Because of their assassin training, they’re partial to tighter-fitting clothes so they don’t get snagged on anything

Roots - Is your OC's look inspired by any specific style of clothing or fashion trend? What are the roots and/or inspiration for their look?

Salt - their look is very much inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean, Black Sails, and Our Flag Means Death - not very historically accurate but definitely what we associate as “pirate fashion”. Some of their tattoos are loosely inspired by traditional Inuit practices as well as Celtic art/illumination.

Briony - not particularly, other than the general BG3 presets. Mostly going for what a fantasy cult leader wear? Then make that a bit more practical for traipsing around the woods or robbing the hells. A lot of black, a lot of low necklines. I’m currently trying to workshop their look away from the game presets!

Hair - How does your OC wear their hair? Does it have some kind of meaning?

Salt - Salt mostly just wears their hair down and wild. It’s curly in a beachy, salt-wavy way and quite thick and long. They usually have a scarf or bandanna as a headband to keep it out of their face. If they get really frustrated by it or too hot, they’ll use the same scarf to tie it up in a messy bun so it’s off their neck. Canonically in campaign they don’t wash their hair - something something natural oils or whatever

Briony - they have a dank-ass mullet! Short and choppy in the front/sides and then long and wavy in the back. Before getting forcibly lobotomized, they had long silky hair and more of a curtain-bangs shag situation that they would style in elaborate braids with jewelry and such. They keep the mullet to remind them what they went through

12. What’s something Orin and your Durge always agreed on?

Briony thought it was funny to disagree with Orin and get her all worked up (even if they did agree with her), but they did both agree that murder and slaughter etc was the goal and the holiest thing they could do for Bhaal. It was a dedication to Father. They both agreed it was pleasurable and an art form with many methods and mediums.

13. Tell me about a time your Durge and Orin genuinely enjoyed each other’s company

I think they got along a lot better when Orin was a kid, because in elf years, Briony was developmentally a teenager when they moved to Baldur's Gate and joined the temple. I think they genuinely enjoyed being around each other when they were younger and less... pitted against each other, since they had similar interests and goals.

17. Did your Durge know Sarevok hoped they’d have children with Orin? How do they feel about that whole situation?

pre-tadpole they definitely did know and definitely thought it repulsive - for several reasons. They don't think of Orin as a true Bhaalspawn, so they thought diluting their bloodline was beneath them, even if it could produce more Bhaalspawn. They grew up in Menzoberranzan, so blood purity is something ingrained, and if they wanted to reproduce, they'd seek out other drow. They also can't reproduce with Orin, they're not compatible. Post-tadpole when they relearned this fun little fact, they were disgusted by it and offended he'd even suggest it.

25. How does your Durge remember Orin, after everything is over?

Oooh oooof, they remember her with a mix of disgusted anger and pity, I think. They pity her madness and her squandered potential and what could have been if she just listened to them. They never forgave her for betraying them.

14. Was there anything Orin and your Durge really admired about each other?

Briony really admired Orin's passion and devotion to Bhaal and the temple. They liked that they could control her with it to some degree, but her erratic-ness always threw them off. They also admired her ability with a knife (never as good as them though). I think Orin really admired Briony's cult-leader-cleric charisma, and the way they could work a room and have everyone listening. Real Menzoberranzan matron shit. It was something to aspire to. She also admired their brutality and... uh.... creative uses of revivify.

24. How does your Durge feel when they learn that Orin betrayed them and was responsible for their brain damage and tadpoling? Do they consider it a betrayal at all?

Oh Briony was furious. Like wrath-of-the-gods furious. As soon as they learned they were the one true Bhaalspawn they were immediately back on their hubris bullshit, this time backed by Minthara's desire for revenge. So double revenge. There was no scenario to Briony where it wasn't betrayal of the highest level, and they let her have it.

4 - What would your Dark Urge consider to be their greatest flaw? Is this accurate?

Ooof oh man. Briony would consider their greatest flaw their memory and their chronic pain. They think the holes in their brain and the pain that comes from them/the Urge make them weak. They think it’s stopping them from achieving perfection.

It’s not accurate! Their greatest flaw is that they are very manipulative (high insight high persuasion) and not loyal

21 - What are 2-3 songs that your Dark Urge would relate to?

It’s hard to limit it to 2-3, I have a several hours long playlist for them lmao

I’m Your Man - Mitski - “you believe me like a god / I’ll betray you like a man” - it’s giving the way they’ll inevitably betray their companions and their own desperation to not be betrayed in return. It’s a look at them after peeling back the hubris and getting into their fragility. They do want to be loved, but are unfortunately self-aware.

switchblade - aeseas - “great father, what have you made? / cut my heart with your switchblade” - opening lines of the song. It’s hard to explain it just fits so well as a durge song, every lyric is perfect.

I Kill Everything - Deadbyromy - “crafted like a weapon, unable to disengage / built to dismember, fill me with your rage / I kill everything I fuck, fuck everything I kill” - full 180 from the ones above! This one gives hubris, pain slut, necrophilia… every lyric feels perfectly suited to Briony. But it also still has the lack of free will and submission to others under the impression it’s their idea.

24 - Does your Dark Urge have a treasured item with them? If yes, what is it and why is it special? If no, how do they feel about item sentimentality in general?

Honestly not really. They’re not very materialistic and they lost all of their things after Orin attacked them, including their clothes. What they start in on the nautiloid was an outfit Magtew gave them when he dumped them on the ship. Though, as the game progresses, they grow a bit territorial over certain items - the Light of Creation halberd for example, they hang onto it the whole time, as well as Bloodthirst. Their loyalty to items is like their loyalty to people - if it no longer serves a purpose, it gets discarded. Bri thinks item sentimentality a little gauche, but they’re not going to stop someone or comment on it.

5 - What opinion does your Dark Urge have about the Gods?

Oooh this one’s interesting because they’re a cleric! They know the gods are imperfect, but regardless of that, they follow a bit blindly. They think the gods are not to be questioned since they hold so much power. This shifts over the course of the game as their god moves from Lolth to Bhaal, and they spend more time listening to Minthara claim the gods are just as infallible as mortals. But to Briony, the gods are a well of power for them to access - if they do what their god says, they get more power (thus trapping them in a cycle of being used and manipulated into fulfilling the god’s agenda) - they think their relationship to Bhaal makes them immortal-like themself, but they’ve never had a scrap of free will.

10 - What motivates your Dark Urge to either embrace or resist the tadpole?

A semblance of power and control baby! They embrace it to an extent, since it’s another new way of grasping at power to become free from others’ control. They like exerting power over other people, and the tadpole abilities help with that, so they get suckered in (yet another being is manipulating them).

15 - What is your Dark Urge’s greatest fear?

Oh man, oh man… honestly probably failure and betrayal. They’ve gone their whole life as special and a scion and the pinnacle of murderous control, but since it’s always been in service of a god, they are terrified of failing and having their power ripped away. This leads into the betrayal part - Orin’s lobotomy frightened them and now they’re paranoid others might try to betray them in a similar fashion. The powerlessness and lack of knowledge scared them and rattled their usual hubristic confidence. They see betrayal as a failure, and they do not fail. They can’t really rationalize the idea that they’re anything less than this perfect being they’re supposed to be. And the pressure to live up to that? It weighs heavy.

20 - Is your Dark Urge open about their Urge or do they try to hide it? Why?

Briony’s unfortunately quite open about it. They’ll tell their friends about the Urge with a smile and a reassurance that they have it under control. Briony also gets chronic migraines from it, and sometimes needs a way to relieve them - lesser restoration helps, but killing is better.

25 - How does your Dark Urge feel about Sceleritas Fel?

They love the little guy! They’re usually amused by him and grateful for his help, but they wish he’d leave them alone sometimes and not watch everything they do. His chattering and refusal to die get on their nerves.

30 - What are your Dark Urge’s intentions/goals after the end of the game?

Uhhhhh raze Toril to ash and meat??? Kill and die in Bhaal’s name?? They would like to enact bloody vengeance on the matriarchs of Menzoberranzan though and smooch their wife in the wreckage.
