Was struck by the desire to draw Salt as a lil kid
self, intimacy, family and exit for salt, sunburst and aza!
Thank you!!
Self: How is your OC's relationship with themself? Does your OC like who they are? Is there anything about themself that they would change?
Salt: it’s. Well. Averages out to be very middle of the road. They’re very full of themself in some regards, and deeply insecure in others. They don’t really like who they are but also they are very authentic in all they do. They don’t want to change that part and they’re certainly not going to water themself down for anyone. Salt really doubts their abilities and relationships though, and has a hard time believing it when people express affection for them. They’re constantly trying to find balance within themself.
Sunburst: she’s trying so hard to have a good relationship with herself and she’d say she likes who she is. She’s a good person, helpful, compassionate… she’s trying to sand off all the “unpleasant” edges like the anger and the confusion of who she is as a person independent of her god. Why be a person when she can be a conduit? That’s what she’s been told her whole life.
Aza: oh boy she is so full of herself, she loves herself. She loves how intelligent she is, how ambitious she is, her determination and discipline. There’s nothing she would change about herself. Except for maybe the emptiness and lack of understanding underneath all the ambition. Take away the poise and the spellcraft and she’s again a confused little girl…
Intimacy: Is your OC the type of person to engage in long-term relationships, or are they more casual in their intimacy and affection? How do they feel about intimacy and relationships in general?
Salt: they are a completely hopeless romantic and a huge slut so they’re down for any kind of intimacy and express it very physically. They’re skittish in relationships because they don’t like being “tied down” and tend to run away when they feel anything too intensely (ie all of the time) but they desperately want to love and be loved. Most of the time they’re doing casual but once feelings are involved? Oh the paladin yearning comes through Strong.
Sunburst: she so desperately wants to be in a relationship. She doesn’t so casual, she only does passion and devotion so strong it becomes religious. But she’s also afraid of anyone seeing her as anything other than perfect and sunny so she avoids them. Deeply touch starved too because she’s terrified of burning someone (literally or emotionally). She’s so curious about how intimacy feels but she says she’s saving herself for marriage.
Aza: both! She likes casual intimacy as a fun outlet and has experience in long term relationships. Her last one ended recently though, her boyfriend of a couple years unceremoniously dumped her and didn’t really explain why. And then plagiarized her work. She’s pretty pro both casual intimacy and relationships, but she’s now sworn off men for relationships.
Family: What's your OC's family like? Is it a family of blood, choice, or something else? How does your OC feel about their blood relations? If they have a family of choice, how did they come together?
Salt: salt has a relatively small family, they were an only child to two parents. They have an aunt and uncle who are close to their parents. But they were born and raised in a hippy-dippy isolated druidic community so raising kids was a bit communal. They love their parents very much and consider their mummy their best friend. They also believe in found family and that you can have friendships that are just as close as family.
Sunburst: she loves her family and her church family! She’d say she’s lucky to have two kinds of mothers. She has a mom, a dad, and an older sister. Unfortunately her parents would compare their daughters a lot growing up so Sunny’s sister really resents her and Sunny just wants to be close to her. She admitted she doesn’t like her sister though, because Anne constantly puts her down.
Aza: she doesn’t know her blood family, she has no memory of them. She was adopted around the age of 7 by a rich merchant couple and for all intents and purposes, those are her parents. She loves them but she knows they’ve lied to her about things even though they provided her with every opportunity she could have wanted and a cushy upbringing.
Exit: Has your OC ever had someone important leave their life in a way that was unremarkable, unintentional, or clumsy? How do they feel about it? Is there any chance they'll meet again?
Salt: oh yeah they have, but they’re usually the one doing the leaving. They tend to ghost relationships or friendships that don’t vibe with them or if they have too many feelings about it. Their last long(ish) term boyfriend was very clumsy and sort of unintentional - he tried to propose and Salt got so freaked out they got up and literally ran away. They really liked him. They feel pretty bad about it, and did end up encountering him again and apologizing. Their departure from home was also very clumsy and messy, they just packed their bags and got on a ship. They miss their family terribly. Salt actively tries to be the first one to leave though.
Sunburst: childhood friendships that just drifted apart due to her devotion to the church and her clerical duties, but she’d say she still loves them. A party member she really cares for is also leaving, and she’ll be upset about that but she has to be understanding. She must. Don’t argue don’t say how you feel just. Accept it.
Aza: her ex was clumsy and messy about the breakup especially because they work together, so unfortunately she does see him around. She’s been the one though to unremarkably leave people’s lives and discard friendships.
🧑🤝🧑🧑🤝🧑 👄 and ↕️ for salt, sabetha and malice!
Thank you!!
🧑🤝🧑🧑🤝🧑how do they feel about having multiple partners at once? have they ever done it?
Salt - they’re genuinely poly and would lowkey struggle (and have struggled) in monogamous relationships. They fall in love easily and lust even more so. They like having a variety of lovers, and don’t like feeling tied down to one person. They have never done it, uh, ethically? They cheated on an ex girlfriend many times but only because she started cheating first so that’s kind of the closest they’ve come. It wasn’t great but hey they’re still friends with benefits with that ex.
Sabetha - here!
Malice - I think he’s pretty laissez faire, so long as the other person is honest about it. He kind of doesn’t care that much, if the other person wants to be open or exclusive, he doesn’t really have a preference? Or at least that’s what he’d say. He’s a bit skittish about forming deep relationships but gets crushes easily, and will sleep around if that’s what suits him in the moment. He hasn’t really done it before, since he doesn’t consider a lot of his past relationships as ‘real’ anyways.
👄do they prefer oral or penetrative sex more?
Salt - while they love penetrative, they prefer oral. They have a massive oral fixation and will happily go down on someone for as long as their jaw and the other person can handle it. And they will be personally offended if you don’t reciprocate.
Sabetha - she prefers giving oral and receiving some form of penetration be it fingers or a toy. She always has stiletto nails so she’s not exactly reciprocating in that way. She’s pretty up front about it though.
Malice - he’d say oral to not like. Pressure anyone or ask for anything that could be too much, but he prefers penetrative. From either perspective. He likes the intimacy and the intensity along with the physical feeling, and is a sucker for a good sword/stabbing metaphor. He’s not going to say no to a bj though and he’ll offer to go down on you in return.
↕️are they a sub, dom, or switch? top, bottom, or switch?
Salt - switch and verse but leans more heavily bottom/subby
Sabetha - bottom, sub, the biggest pillow princess. It’s the nails.
Malice - also switch and verse, doesn’t really lean in any particular direction - equally happy to be in charge or get put in his place. Kind of depends on his dynamic with the other person or how bratty and malicious he’s feeling that day.
artificer, fighter, and warlock for salt and malice!
Thank you!!
artificer: How good is your muse at picking up new tools/skills? Are they proficient with any tools? How are they at making things with their own hands?
Salt - they would tell you they’re not good at picking up new skills, but they’re quite good at it. They’re proficient with a ton of weapons, herbalism kits, and water vehicles on paper, but also with tattooing, surfing, and navigating/cartography as part of their lore. They were allowed to give a tattoo artist the help action on their own tattoo! Otherwise they’re not much of a maker beyond maps and cordage.
Malice - he’s not really very handy at all. He’s good at picking up physical skills like fighting and acrobatics, but when it comes to making things, not really. He’s good with a disguise kit and that’s about it. He leaves tools and crafting to someone else. Why make your own shiv when you can summon one with a snap of your fingers?
fighter: What's your muse's fighting style? Are there any weapons your muse is comfortable with, or a weapon they'd like to learn to use? What drives them to fight?
Salt - they are comfortable with a whole bunch of different weapons, mostly swords and spears, but they prefer rapiers and long swords - something a bit cunty, unique. They have to be different - Every pirate has a cutlass, so they have a flamberge rapier. Their fighting style is very fluid and graceful, almost dancer-like - think water bender meets fencer. They fight for what they believe in and to protect their friends, and because they think it’s fun.
Malice - his fighting style is both flashy and viciously dirty. Equal parts merciless and performative. Extra flourishes but it still hurts when he hits. One could say his fighting style is malicious - he is famous for it after all. He’s quite comfortable with an array of weapons but prefers pole-arms and spears - keep a bit of distance. His go-to is an obsidian glaive. He is driven to fight by a want for attention, a deep devastating anger, and sheer spite.
warlock: Has your muse ever made a deal to get something they wanted? Is there anything your muse wants enough to broker for it? What would your muse sacrifice to get what they want?
Salt - they have not, but there are things they have considered sacrificing if it absolutely came down to it - they want freedom, autonomy, and balance more than anything, but they also yearn for connection. In a way to get that, they’d give up their paladin oath that binds them to protecting that same thing. They’ve risked their life countless times to protect their loved ones, so that’s something they’d offer. But on the flip side, trying to make a deal with them would be difficult - they’re incredibly stubborn.
Malice - as a warlock, yes he has. He wanted power and to not feel helpless for once. Unfortunately giving up his soul didn’t really help the feeling helpless a lot of the time - he’s still trying to figure out what else he can sacrifice to get that. He gave up his morals and freedom to protect loved ones, but it backfired in his face and he’s not sure if it was worth it, as he’s still trying to regain his freedom and values.
1, 6, 26 and 52 for sunny and salt!!
Omg thank you!
1. why did they choose their class(es)? their subclass(es)?
Sunburst - I don’t think she really chose her own class/subclass. Even from childhood, she knew she wanted to help people, so cleric was only natural, especially as she became an acolyte - that’s also what people expected of her. The light subclass just felt Right. She wanted to fully embody the sun, and her own fiery nature.
Salt - there was no world where Salt wasn’t a druid. They were born into an ancient enclave and their mum was a druid so she passed along her knowledge kind of without even asking them what they wanted. But they enjoyed learning martial fighting and picked up on sword fighting pretty quickly, and then with their passion and honesty, open sea paladin just clicked. Their oath is their driving force.
6. which party member do they relate to the most?
Sunburst - I’m not sure if she relates to one more than the others. She has her bestie, Ever the nepo-baby barbarian, who she relates to about a bunch of privileged girlie things and day-to-day life. She relates to the ranger on feeling like an outsider and having moral lines she won’t cross. She doesn’t know much about the wizard, but they had a breakthrough last session! Even if she won’t admit it to herself, she relates to their sense of loneliness and isolation.
Salt - honestly, at least at first, they didn’t really relate to anyone. They know they’re not the most likeable and can be an acquired taste. They related to the monk a lot, but then they kind of deviated since the monk started hanging out with an NPC Salt really doesn’t like. They relate to the barbarian to some degree, but his emotional constipation drives them mad. They vibe the most with the sorcerer, even if they’re very different people.
26. who do they miss?
Sunburst - she misses her pseudo-mom, her real mom, and a sense of self she’s never had before.
Salt - their parents, especially their mum. And Uvenda.
52. from whom do they seek validation?
Sunburst - oh everyone! Mostly god though, so that’s… good
Salt - their parents, but mostly they seek validation from themself
crying, shaved ice, spider and mousetrap for judas and salt!
Ahh thank you!!
😭 CRYING - what makes them cry? do they cry easily?
Judas - he does not cry easily, no, and very rarely. He’d have to already be very tired and stretched thin, and the trigger would have to be something very serious and impactful to get him to break. He thinks any kind of emotional display is beneath him, so if he was to cry, it would ideally not be in front of anyone.
Salt - they cry quite easily! They get weepy when they’re sad, and will sometimes angry-cry. They’re quite in tune with their emotions and are at a point in their life where they can’t deny them anymore, so Salt will just let themself cry if that’s what their body needs. For a while there, even just genuine kindness shown to them would make them cry.
1, 2, 9, 24 and 42 for salt and cassiopeia!
Thank you !!
1. What’s their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?
Salt - their full name is Eivør Coral Salt! Genasi naming conventions usually include something related to their element, so - Salt! I found a song called Salt while I was creating them, by a singer named Eivør, and I really liked how they flowed together. Coral as a middle name came later because I thought it was cute and ocean-y lol
Cassiopeia - her full name is Cassiopeia Firenze, and she doesn't have a middle name. It came to me in a vision and it doesn't really mean anything symbolic! It was just yes, this woman is Cassiopeia.
