Bristow was the absolute poster child for senior cat adoptions. The uncle of a family friend died, I got a call asking if I could at least foster a "grumpy old man" so he didn't have to go into a shelter. I was warned he wouldn't like me, that he would probably just share the space and also maybe bite me. I said yes immediately.
I didn't get a grumpy old man. I got a perfect chaos gremlin.
I only got to know him for 7 months, but in that time he mastered harness training in one day, got me through my worst pain nights purring on my chest, learned how to stop and start videos on my laptop and had opinions about what show I left on for him when I was out (he loved White Collar and every Star Trek), and was just the best friend-shaped buddy I could have ever asked for
