Short History

             In celebration of the legendary hero Robin Hood, The Royal Mint retells his tales centuries after they were first told around British campfires. In this new bullion collection inspired by myth and legend, the iconic character, who stole from the rich to give to the poor, appears on the first coin. In addition to the heroic Robin Hood, two further coins inspired by the tale will soon be released, featuring Maid Marian and Little John, Robin Hood's trusted companion. According to her biography, Maid Marian was a woman of great rank but was a woman of the people at heart. As they made their way through Sherwood Forest, she gathered valuable information about Robin Hood.
