The moment you’ve all been waiting for (one of them at least) Max and Phoebe
Now that they told their friends it was time to do what they were dreading most, tell the family.
Max rubbed Phoebe’s back as she hovered over the toilet.
“Come on babe we can tell them it will be fine.”
“seriously, can we not talk about this while I’m throwing up the entirety of my stomach?!”
As if it wasn’t bad enough they had to tell their family about their relationship, being nauseated and having to pee every 2 minutes was the icing on the fucked up cake of their life.
“Okay, Sorry” he sounded of a small helpless child.
Now she felt really bad he had been enduring so much and it was all for her she had to tell him how sorry she was.
“No Max, I have been a mess lately and if my ass isn’t on the toilet seat my face is, I have been taking so much out on you and you have just been taking it,put up with me, and just being so amazing. I’m sorry and I don’t blame you if you’re upset with me and just want to walk away.” She couldn’t help but start crying no thanks to those damn hormones.
“Are you crazy? I’d never walk away from you, come here. It’s okay,” he held her tight in his grasp doing this thing to her back that she loved while slightly rocking her. “don’t apologize you’re pregnant you can be a pain in the ass all you want I can take it.” he pulls back slightly to wipe her tears away.
“You really are amazing, thank you.”
She sniffles.
“well yeah,” he smirked cockily,
“now brush your teeth so I can stick my tongue down your throat.”
She rolls her eyes grabbing her toothbrush and brushing her teeth. she turns off the sink and wipes her face before turning around to an eager Max .
almost instantly his lips are on hers tasting the minty flavor of her breath.
“Mmm very” he mumbles against her lips kissing her like crazy.
“Okay okay no more,” she laughs shoving him off “I’m starving and we need to figure out how we’re going to do this.”
He pulls away turning to leave, or so she thought.
“Ugh, fine I guess I’ll stop kissing yo-”
He attacks her face with his mouth.
kissing her everywhere he can get his lips.
She fights him off, they both laugh
“Okay okay, ahh babe stop. I’m serious now.”
“Okay, alright I’m done.” He catches his breath.
“Trust me I’d love to be able to just sit here and kiss you all day, but we have somewhere very important to be right now then we have to tell them.”
this made him laugh lightly “you’re so cute when you’re hungry, let’s go get you food.”
on their way to splatburger they stop by game of scones, Phoebe was craving donuts.
Max wanted to get this talk out if the way so they could have some fun before the family meeting.
“So, how exactly should we do this?”
“I don’t know I mean I guess we could sit them down in the living room and just tell them. ”
“Max we’re already eating.. and I’m the pregnant one.”
“No, I mean that should help them go easier on us how mad could dad be if he’s eating, You ever see him mad while he eats? It’s not possible pheebs.”
“I see your point. okay, so ill make some brownies then we tell them.”
the reach their house and walk up the steps to the front door. before walking inside Max turns her toward him.
“Ready as I’ll ever be, I guess.”
Reading into her concern he takes hold of her face guiding her to look at him, assuring her not worry.
“Hey, remember, no matter they say you’re still mine and I’m still yours okay?”
turning the knob she opens the door,they head inside, Max goes downstairs while Phoebe goes straight for the kitchen. upon walking in she sees her mom at the stove, cooking?!
“Hey sweetie where were you two?”
To make matters worse the smell of whatever the hell was in that pan was making Phoebe nauseous all over again.
“Oh we just went to splatburger mo-mom.”
This is a cause of concern for Barb.
“Yeah I’m fine mom just really full so no dinner for me okayimgoinginmyroomnowkloveyoubye.” She scrambled to get out of there quick before she grew suspicious.
She quickly ran down the stairs and into Max’s room.
“Great she’s making dinner so now what?”
“Don’t worry we’ll just have to talk to them after dinner,” he grabbed her hands flirtatiously “and have some us time while we wait.” He smirked.
She smiles. “Well how can I say no to that face?”
She put her arms around his neck kissing him until they fall onto his (their) bed.
she rolls on top of him,straddling his torso,his grip on her tightens as his hands lower, caressing her body holding her close. She kisses down his neck, he carefully rolls them over so he is on top, he sits up pulling his shirt over his head throwing it across the room, leaning back to her he trails open mouth kisses down her neck and collarbone causing a soft moan to escape her lips.
He makes his way down her body stopping at her stomach, rubbing her bump. He looks up watching her watch him.
“Hey kid, I don’t know if you can hear me, does it even have ears yet?”
“she? Uh, I think you mean he.”
“whatever you are, mommy and daddy love you already and we can’t wait till you’re here.” He kisses Phoebe’s belly sharing a smile with her.
“Still haven’t told anyone about you,”
She adverts her gaze to the wall, “or us”
“Hey,” he grabs her chin bringing her eyes back to his “don’t worry we’ll tell them about us and our son tonight, after dinner.” He smirked.
She raises her eyebrows playfully
“Guess I better go make the brownies before we have the talk and tell them about our daughter.”
She sits up putting her shirt back on earning disapproval from Max.
“keep dreaming pheebs we’ll see who’s right when we find out in 2 weeks,”
He caught her by surprise.
“you’ve been keeping track? I am so impressed”
“Well yeah, I have to know our appointments dates, how long we have to get everything ready, and when I get to see my baby”
“Awee, have I told you how amazing you are?” She lays her head on his shoulder.
“Only once today, but feel free to say it again” he grins.
She laughs rolling her eyes.
“I really mean it Max, you are so much different from who you used to be and you’re showing so much maturity about all of this not to mention all the support you have given me even when I don’t deserve it. I don’t know what I would do or where I would be without you. You are my rock.”
“I just want you to know how much I care about you and the baby and how much I want this life with you, you are my rock”
“I love you more sweetheart”
He kisses her passionately.
“alright I guess I’ll let you go make your brownies, but don’t be up there too long I miss your lips already.“ He smirked flirtatiously.
"I’ll be back before you know it baby,oh and don’t even think about putting that shirt back on.” She whispered seductively.
“Okay, go before I change my mind and keep your sexy ass down here."
They fix themselves and phoebe heads back up the stairs and into the kitchen.
"There you are, you feeling okay sweetie?”
Barb was still concerned about Phoebe’s outburst earlier.
“Yeah mom, I’m fine now just gonna make some brownies for dessert”
Phoebe smiled.
“better make 2 boxes and 1 for us”
“Don’t worry there will be pleeenty for dad” She laughed.
Phoebe made the brownies and proceeded back down to Max.
“Hey, I’m looking for this guy named Max about this tall, isn’t wearing a shirt, best friends with a bunny.” “Watch it!" Said bunny shouted from his covered cage. Phoebe rolled her eyes. "Anyway, have you seen him?” She walks down the steps being cautious Max smiling at her return.
“don’t know who this Max guy is, but I mean since you’re already here,” he slowly approached her seductively “just don’t tell my girlfriend she’s pretty moody. lately.” He wraped his arms around her.
“Oh that hormonal bitch? Yeah no definitely not telling her.” She grabs his neck kissing him.
“geeze babe” Max laughed raising his brows.
"Can’t argue with that, but I still love you” he leaned in to kiss her until
“Max mom sent me to tell you dinner is ready.” Billy supersped to the door.
“Alright,w- I’ll be up in a minute.”
“You can make out with phoebe later it’s time to eat”
“Who told you?!” His eyes were buldging out of his face.
“Max, I may be stupid but I’m not an Idiot don’t worry I won’t say anything about her or the baby.” he whispered the last part.
“I told you Max I’m not an idiot.”
He sped off leaving Max speechless.
“What?! how does he know?”
Now her eyes were bulging.
“I don’t know, but he said he won’t say anything doesn’t really matter now let’s just get this over with.”
Max interlocks their fingers as they head up stairs.
they joined their family at the table everyone had their own topics and discussion while passing around dishes,Nora giving Billy her bread as always, things were going normal and they were enjoying their meal, everyone except a very nauseated phoebe who had barely been able to eat Barb’s electric spaghetti with thundersauce but was trying.
While the others were distracted Max motioned her to go upstairs, he knew she wasn’t going to be able to hold it together much longer.
“Max, can you uh help me with something?” She spoke quickly.
“You’re asking me for help? Finally you get it, am I right?” He joked trying to remain as his typical self. She acted annoyed giving him the look. “Fine whatever” he sighed.
No one had been suspicious to them it was typical Max Phoebe behavior.
They stop in the hallway “that was awesome they totally bought it!” Phoebe smiled kissing him quickly “that’s not why we came up here, but we were pretty damn convincing and I’d never say no to those lips” hw kisses back, they deepen the kiss sliding their tongues into each others mouths until phoebe abruptly ends the kiss rushing through the bathroom door dropping to her knees, max following closing the door lightly behind them. “ pheebs you can’t just force yourself to eat if you’re feeling sick it’s not good for you or the baby.” He whispered.
“I know I know, but I didn’t want mom asking if I was okay again or getting suspicious”. She lifted her face from the porcelain bowl.
“ugh let’s just get back down there, present the brownies and tell them.”
“remember no matter what they say nothing can or ever will change the way I feel about you okay? you’re my baby and always will be.” Max assured her.
“okay, I hope so. You’re mine too I’m just scared" She began to cry.
"Hey, don’t cry sweetheart I’m scared too, but everything will be okay I promise.” He wiped her tears fighting back his own giving her one last tender kiss.
“You’re right let’s do this” she sniffled.
They head back downstairs where everyone was waiting.
“now Barb?” Hank whined wanting dessert.
“alright everyone ready for dessert?” Max smiled sharing a glance with Phoebe
“You’re my favorite kid!”
“Hey! I always teleport to get you chocolate munch cakes,” chloe cried suddenly realizing she said too much “and I wasn’t supposed to tell anyone that, oops” she disappeared in an instant.
“Okay, everyone in the living room Max and I have something to tell you all.”
“Ooh what did my superhero babies do this time?” Barb smiled anxiously.
“Made a superhero baby of their own” phoebe thought to herself.
“Mom, dad, Billy, Nora-” Max began
“Chloe, Max,phoebe,coloss-” Billy interrupted max slowly turning to face him giving him a ‘wtf’ look with the rest of the family.
“Anyway, guys” Max grabs Phoebe’s hand locking their fingers together earning confused looks from everyone except Billy who had a knowing smile.
“Phoebe and I are together” he let’s out a deep breath he didn’t know he was holding in.
“I SHIP IT!” Billy applaud.
“No surprise there." Nora commented.
"Why has that been everyone’s reaction?” Phoebe wondered aloud.
“Please say something!” Phoebe couldn’t take the silence from her parents.
“I don’t know what to say Phoebe.”
Barb wasn’t even upset
“Idk what’s going on, but these aren’t going to eat themselves so can I please get back to my beautiful brownies?” Hank admiringly looked at his plate.
“Well since everyone’s cool with it does this mean I can get back to my beautiful girlfriend?”
Max tried to lighten things up, but was very serious.
“Dad, this is serious we have wanted to tell you guys, but we’re scared we had to wait until the right time and thought the brownies would help." Phoebe spoke softly.
"Guys this cannot happen! You’re the thundertwins. How you going to explain this to the hero league huh or your friends?" Hank wasn’t upset either.
"And What kind of parents would be if we allowed this?” Barb interjected.
“We don’t need you guys to allow it. Look, you don’t have to approve I didn’t expect anyone to, but I don’t care I did this for Phoebe so we didn’t have to keep us a secret forever. I know this is a lot to take in, but I love her.”
“And I love him! I know who would of thought I’d be saying this, it came as a surprise to me too, but then I accepted it and I’ve never been happier. Max has been my rock , he is so caring and amazing and a great boyfriend.”
“Okay Billy,Nora go play the 4 of us need to talk.”
Billy and Nora went outside leaving the 4 of them alone.
“This is crazy, and above all it’s wrong we can’t allow this in our household”
“Max sweetie listen -” she began
“No YOU listen to me if you don’t want this in your household then it won’t be, because we won’t be. I already told you we don’t need or care for your approval you can say and think what you want, you can try to separate us,break us up whatever but no amount of distance or boundaries will change the way I feel. I am in love with her, she is everything to me, she is there when no one else is, she is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. She makes me feel like no one ever has”
“Yes, but its not-”
“Mom I know it may be wrong or weird, but I really just don’t care she is worth everything, she makes me a better person, she helped me discover my true self and never once gave up, even if she was full of herself, but that’s the past I’m over it I just want to be Happy dont you want.me.to be happy?”
“Oh honey you know I do,we do”
“Then don't do this, without Phoebe i’m nothing and I just want to be with her for the rest of my life,I want to marry her! she is my happiness please don’t take that away from me.”
Barb and Hank were shocked.
“Max we’re not going to separate you guys and we won’t keep you from being together its going to take some getting used to, but we’ll work on it." She reasoned.
"Wait, really?” now they were the ones who were shocked and thrilled.
“Yes really we knew it all along, well not that you were in a secret relationship, but the feelings you have for each other, and we don’t want to take away your happiness Max you have already been through enough and you’ve come such a long way with embracing who you are and have always been, we have been cold and shut you out now it’s our turn to be there for you the way we should have been."
"Wow, thanks Mom.” He teared up giving her a big hug, her words truly touched him.
“there is one thing we still need to discuss, you two aren’t sexually active are you?”
They shared a look and took another deep breath.
“Uhhh, yeah about that there’s one more tiny thing we need to tell you"
