Three Years Later...
A/N:
Okay so first, I’m sorry this took so long to post; I got really busy with my classes and internship but I was so excited to write this one. Second, it got a little bit away from the request so sorry again for that but I hope you like it! Third, prepare for some serious angst, I was listening to Hozier and Lord Huron when I wrote it, oops.

Pairing: Danny Wagner x reader
Word Count: 1200
Warnings: angst, probably some bad writing
Requested by: Anon- “Hi!!! Could you do something where Danny is in love with reader but she is a Kiszka (cousin) and he is scared because maybe the boys will get angry with him?? Thank you!!”
You stared out the window as the trees passed quickly by, humming along to the familiar song playing on the 70s radio station. Your parents were discussing some TV show that they’ve been keeping up with but you weren’t really paying much attention to the conversation in the front of the car. Too many thoughts were racing through your head as you got closer to the tiny Michigan town that you once knew so well. It’d been three years since you were last there, spending almost every summer at your cousins’ house. You had so many fond memories at the Kiszka residence, hanging out with the boys— mostly with Sam, since you two were only a few months apart in age. You felt a slight pain in your chest, remembering how you used to be so close but had somehow grown so far apart these past few years. You don’t really know how it happened, but after a while you became busy with school and part-time jobs and they all had the band. Next thing you knew it’d been three years and now here you were, heading back to Frankenmuth for Sammy’s high school graduation party.
You were ecstatic at the thought of seeing your cousins again, but that couldn’t keep your anxiety from creeping up into your brain. What if it’s awkward? What if they don’t even care that I’m there? What about Danny? The last thought was one you’d been suppressing since you found out about the party. The last summer that you had spent in Frankenmuth, Danny was over all the time to hang out with Sam, so you were together a lot. By mid-July you had admitted to yourself that you had some strong more-than-friends feelings for the dark-haired boy. He was gentle and shy, but never hesitant to gang up on Sam with you. You decided to tell him how you felt, but that was a huge mistake. Not because he didn’t feel the same way, in fact, you can remember it like yesterday when he said “Y/N, I’ve been in love with you since the moment we met.”
The sprinkling sun- can sun sprinkle? It was, flittering through the leaves, freckle-ing my nose. It felt and smelt warm, my cheeks flushed despite the cool of the shade. Grass, flowers, the breeze - wafts filling my nose, spreading through my senses, fingers and toes and tingling. My back was sweaty and itchy, the feeling making me both alert and drowsy, eyelids heavy. The summer sun shone on.
I figure if I'm going to write prompts, maybe I should fill some too. Writing from me coming in 3, 2, 1...
