Y2k was ca. 2 months away, and everybody believed civilization was about to end because the computer virusses would crash everything... (If you believe American socialists now, that the world will end in 12 years due to climate change, imagine how we felt in 1999 lol) Seat belt fastened, I closed my eyes... suddenly there was screaming and stewardesses were trying to fixate Carl Crack... he was standing near the emergency exit door, pushing down the doorhandle, while at the same time defending himself with Karate like moves... The plane was already rolling... and the pilot had to abort the take off... the co-pilot stormed out to help his colleagues ... A few minutes later the police entered the plane and escorted Carl out in hand cuffs... the passengers were all shocked, their mouths wide open, I made eye contact with Nic Endo and Hanin Elias... we all knew... we would have to play the first shows without him... I asked the stewardess if I could get a coffee and tried to work out in my head how we would change the set, the songs... and mostly...how to figure out help for Carl from Dublin, who I might call and so on... During these coming weeks the three of us were a strong unit, on stage and off stage... the chaos, the stress, the pressure, we felt almost invincible... Our record was doing well, NIN had just asked us to support them on their upcoming American tour... But in reality we were heading for ‘Brixton Academy 1999’ - we would crash and burn so hard, I still can feel the pain... When I look at the snapshot, I always remember that for a short moment we were ok and that it was good...
