just finished the good son by jeong yu-jeong and,,, oh my gosh it was literally a masterpiece. like?? the entire book was just relatable in some bits and pieces, and the way she wrote the psyche of a psychopath was way more intriguing that i thought.
i wouldn't say it was as intense as the reviews claimed it to be, but i thoroughly enjoyed the psychological take on it! kinda wish my korean is good enough to understand the novel in its original script but oh well, i'll stick to reading naver webtoons for now \:
go check it out if you guys enjoy psychological thrillers! i think it's worth a read, at least 一 considering it's pretty short.
some lines from it that made me go 0:!!
I wanted to tell him about a concept I’d heard about a long time ago: that like other creatures, mankind had survived because it could adapt to various situations. Look at me, I thought, I’m adapting shockingly well to the idea of betraying you.
Nothing had been solved and I hadn’t decided what to do, but I felt quietly optimistic that everything would turn out the way it should. Anything was possible if I wanted it enough.
None of her talents were useful to her now, though; all she could do was lie on the old blanket. I suppose that’s what happens when you die.
That night, when I started to follow the woman with the sparkling ring, I fi nally found a clue to unravelling that mystery. I suddenly realised what I was attracted to. I was attracted to someone feeling afraid.
there's like,, loads of better written scenes but i don't wanna include too much without spoiling anything so,,, let me know if yall decide to read it bc i wanna gush over it with someone (':
this is a callout post for anyone who hasn’t listened to “As Your Father I Expressly Forbid It” by Lemon Demon. The beat slaps and the lyrics physically slapped me across the face. Read this:
“What happened to my medicine? The stuff I take to keep my hair It's obvious you stole it and you sold it on the street 'Cause you don't even care if I lose my hair Okay, I found my medicine I'm sorry that I yelled at you But let this be a lesson, if you ever steal my medicine That's what I'll do I'll yell at you”
is that not. the most relatable thing you’ve ever read.
here’s a Big Tall Sea Urchin Dude
my back is broken from slaving over this
