Broadway Legacy Challenge FAQ
So you want to start your sim on a journey of musical, artistic and creative expression! Good for you! Shoot for the stars!
Q: What age should my founder sim be? Can he or she be a sim I have played before?
A: Your founder should be a single Young Adult with no skills and the Musical Genius aspiration. Use whatever traits you want, or you can randomize them. When you make your founder, share him or her on the gallery using #broadwaylegacy!
Q: Where should my sim live?
A: Your founder sim can live in any world on any lot, and he or she can also move later for a change of scenery! Start with $20,000 simoleons and purchase a starter home in the game, download one from the gallery, or build one yourself. No money cheats are allowed, but you can supplement your income with gardening, collectibles, breeding frogs, purchasing the money bin or the money tree, etc. You can also participate in the lottery.
Q: Can I use lot traits and satisfaction points?
A: Go for it! Or don’t, if you want to try the challenge in hard mode.
Q: Can I use mods and/or CC?
A: You may. This is your game, so play it how you wish!
A: Money, aspiration, skill and job cheats are not allowed.
A: Sure! Just make sure you leave room in the household for your heir for the next generation!
Q: I’m ready to get married. Can I keep my new spouse’s money?
A: Absolutely! You will probably need it.
Q: Can my spouse have a job?
A: Yes - it is encouraged.
Q: What packs do I need to play this challenge?
A: Certain packs are required for some of the careers, skills and traits listed in the rules. You will need:
City Living (singing skill, art critic career)
Get Together (leader of the pack aspiration, dance machine trait, dance skill, DJ skill)
Get to Work (photography skill)
Dine Out (retail/restaurant theatre)
Q: I finished Gen 11! How do I build a theatre?
A: You can build your own theatre or download one from the gallery. The theater should include a stage and seating, but have fun with it! We have written a Broadway Legacy Build Challenge, where you roll a die to determine what kind of theatre you build. The theatre can be set as a retail lot (merch store!) or restaurant (dinner theatre!) or simply as a lounge or nightclub. If you build a lounge or nightclub, deduct the cost of the theatre from Gen 11’s household funds. The theatre can be built on any size lot. Feel free to use any CC you want.
