here's that thing I was talking about last night

for some reason all I ever seem to write is hypothetical BrokenAU stuff... but eh. anyway, here's a bit of a small scene involving Dee and the 'Bats (sans MCBC of course), a few hours after this happens

The five sat huddled next to the campfire; four Aquabats stared at the leather and denim clad undead girl before them, and she, in a similar fashion, stared back at them--albeit through one eye. The light from the fire bounced off of her grayed retina, giving it an eerie glow, which, combined with the large smile on her face, struck the others as being rather creepy. “So!” Dee began suddenly, causing the four to nearly jump from their skins. They had only just managed to get Ricky to stop screaming a few hours ago, and the look on his face suggested that he was inches away from another bout of hysterics. Dee noticed their reactions and her one eye glanced down sheepishly. “So I’m, uh... sure you have some questions for me.” “I’ve got more than just that for you,” Eaglebones spat, glaring. “Why did you and your zombie goons attack us?!” “Zombie goons!” Ricky repeated helplessly. “Bones, I’m sure there’s a logical explanation,” Jimmy offered. “Jimmy,” Eaglebones replied, rolling his one good eye, “she and her zombie army jumped us and took our weapons. Yeah, that’s real logical.” “I gave them back,” Dee muttered guiltily. “Besides,” she added, “I didn’t know it was you guys.” “Yeah, right,” said Bones. “Who else would run around in bright blue rashguards in this place?” Dee’s expression suddenly turned severe. “You’d be surprised,” she said solemnly, then stared at the ground between her feet. The firelight glinted off the studs of her leather jacket. “When you guys disappeared, there were more than a few folks out there determined to sully your good names. There were a lot of reported incidents involving Aquabats impostors terrorizing the surviving public and causing significant damage...” “Impostors??” Crash suddenly blurted out. “Wh-Who would do something like that??” “Thugs, mostly,” Dee replied, still looking down. “They’d disguise themselves in order to gain the trust of others or bait people into traps.” She tapped at the black eyepatch covering her left eye. “That’s how I lost this.” “I’m sorry,” Jimmy said helplessly, a pained expression coming over his robotic face. “That’s... awful.” Eaglebones remained silent. “Everything was awful without you guys around,” said Dee, looking back up at them. “With the five of you gone and Space Monster M running everything, we all had to do what we could to survive. We held onto what little hope we had left, on the off chance that you’d all somehow come back again.”

"'We'...?" Jimmy inquired.

"The cadets."

I meant to mention that I was pondering some BrokenAU stuff re: Dee again tonight while I was at work and the story I came up with was a lot less sad and pathetic and more cute UvU
