On our delivery, while passing through the Bahamas, we wanted to see if the props were spinning freely when in neutral. So, I popped the @gopro under the boat. What I never noticed until I went back and looked at it Today was that we were missing our starboard rudder! It was there 4 days earlier, I have footage of it being in place. I had hired two "professional Captains" (using that term lightly) to deliver this boat 1500nm from the BVI's to Baltimore and we lost one of our two rudders and they never noticed. We traveled +/- 700 miles with one rudder WTF! I'm glad nothing happened to the single rudder while we were at sea. I feel like an idiot for not knowing but I guess if the " Professional Captains" did not notice, how can I expect that I would have. Although I have thought the helm was mush since I've been sailing it. Thank God we had a diver cleaning our props who noticed it was missing before we headed south again with the family onboard. For a few bucks we had a diver clean our sail drives this AM since he was already working on the neighbors boat (...and the fact that I'm never willingly getting in the Baltimore harbor water.) Well, he surfaces with the news that there was not too much growth but that we are missing a rudder. Yup missing a rudder. Off to a great start today. Haha! Bless-up, keeping it strictly positive!
