I am Allowed to be angry.
Education is everything, just because you can’t see an injury or illness doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying,
‘I will try again tomorrow.’”
— Mary Anne Radmacher
Words I Hear in My Head
The words I hear,
screaming at me,
starting at the crash—
what feels like the start
of the end for me.
Trying to stay strong,
but I can’t stop the tears.
Words in my head
saying pain is all I am.
Words in my head
saying this is the end.
Words in my head,
destroying slowly.
The words I have,
screaming at me.
I try to quiet them
with medication,
meditation,
and word therapy.
But pain is destroying
all connections,
all grounding.
Pain will be the end of me.
Taking everything.
Words will win.
Terrified.
