I did something incredibly 1950's dinner party - Made Broken Glass Jello squares for a board game night at a friend's house. They were delicious and they look amazing. No fancy mold required either. How often does anything look photo ready straight out of a brownie pan? Never, except with these! ~ And if you're like me, you're probably looking at this pretty dessert and asking yourself, "Jello is an easy, instant treat, why don't people just make it like this all the time?" Let me answer that for you :) - It's a surprising amount of boiling, all the Jello has to chill separately for at least 4 hours before combining and chilling again for at least 8 hours which means a lot of fridge space, and in total (prep and all) easy and instant is really more like kind of easy, but also somehow a two day project. Worth it if you can make the time/fridge space though. I'm probably making this for the next big family holiday party, and also contemplating how long I should wait before trying the next weird mid-century recipe on my list.
