Kyosuke ran and ran, despite how his legs burned and his muscles protested. By the time he reached the place where Isuzu Shoma lived, he was about ready to collapse. Sweat caked his skin, and his chest was heaving. That bile from earlier felt fresher in his mouth, but Kyosuke ignored that disgusting slight metallic taste in favour of rapidly pounding his fist on Isuzu’s front door.

When she finally opened it, Kyosuke had to press a hand onto the wall next to the door in order to stop from collapsing,

“Kagura... needs.... your help.... I didn’t.... remember your phone number.... no time.... f-follow me....” even as Kyosuke said this, the second he tried to move away, his body swayed and he nearly did lose his balance and footing. Needed water, but, Kagura....!!

She jumped a little as she saw Isuzu against the door of her bedroom. Her sister-figure was right – it was late. So it was unusual for the boar to be up. She would have questioned Isuzu why she was up… but she knew that Isuzu felt uncomfortable sleeping in this house sometimes so she didn’t bring it up. She moved her arms around her legs as she sat huddled up against her bed. “I’m just… thinking,” Kagura said honestly. She knew that she couldn’t hide things from Isuzu because for some reason the horse saw right through her. But that wasn’t a lie – she was thinking – even if what she was thinking about was something keeping her up. Therefore she knew it wasn’t a good thing to be thinking about.
