The next twenty four hours were a complete blur. You just lay low and still– skin pressed against the smooth metal flooring– as you stare ahead. But you couldn’t stay like this forever, eventually you found the strength to sit up. Your muscles ached, bones cracked, and joints stretched. Afterwards, you moved to the control panel where you tried to figure out where the ship was heading.
“Planet 4032-Green 877?” The screen glowed as further information was provided below. “Otherwise known as earth?”
So far from what you’ve gathered, the planet already has inhabitants– a whole lot of them. Especially humans. They have developed their societies for hundreds of years with a variety of strange traditions mixed with their customs. There’s no other option for you to derive from your path. The other surrounding planets are uninhabitable.
However, the trip will take about another month or so before you can get close enough to land. Then you can figure out what you can do from there.
For now, your goal is to hold on as long as you can with whatever supplies are available on board.
Waiting for a month to pass on that ship felt like a whole year. The repetitive routine was driving you into insanity. Not even the littlest of changes help pass time. Though the agonizing wait would soon end.
You were eating the same breakfast you had the past couple of weeks when the screen flashed.
“Prepare for landing…” Thrilled, you tossed your food aside and strapped yourself into one of the ship’s seats.
The closer the ship got, the harsher gravity pulled you into the atmosphere. Gradually the view of space was then replaced by the blue sky. Then the sight of trees and before you know it land. The landing was nowhere near perfect but at least you were alive.
Heavy machinery sounds could be heard as the ship’s doors struggled to open. It couldn’t open fully, so you had to push your way out. The sensation was odd as you take your first step on this planet. Your body still needed time to adjust after being in space for so long. All your senses were heightened.
Your legs wobbled as if they had no strength. Your lungs burned– squeezing tightly together – as the air here was a lot heavier than what you’re used to back at home. Your eyes squint nearly shut due to how bright and vibrant everything was.
Now as much as you would like to take your time adapting to this new planet, your attention was suddenly caught onto a small figure.
He was a young boy who stood only a few feet from you. He wore some attire you’ve never seen before. He also spoke an unfamiliar language. Then without warning, he tried to take a few steps closer. Even though he seemed harmless, you can never be so sure– you had your guard up. You backed away, far enough for your back to be pressed against the ship’s walls and that caused him to stop.
Not knowing what else to do, you froze. So the boy retreated back to a rounded structure. That must be where he lives, you assumed. It didn’t take him too long to return but with one more figure.
This was probably the boy’s mother judging by her protective stance– her arms wrapped around him and ensuring he was behind her.
She tried to speak to you in the same confusing language but judging by your lack of response, she knew her words weren’t getting through to you. Plus seeing your ship, this would either mean trouble was here or help was needed. She doesn’t know which one it is for now, however at the very least she wants to help you.
She said something to the young boy and he nodded as his response, she on the other hand rushed back into the structure.
The boy never took another step closer for the sake of your comfort. You waited for a couple of minutes before the mother of the boy returned but with something in her arms. Your nose was quick to pick up the smell of something good. Food, she brought you food!
She meticulously placed each bowl and plate down with a cup of water to wash it all down. Then when she was done, she stepped back– still keeping a close eye on you to protect her kid. You wanted to eat, but still you were hesitant. What if this was a trap of some kind?
You sniffed the food one more time, eyes scanning for any red flags yet the distrust you have in them lessened. Something about the way they looked at you made you feel safe. Carefully and cautiously, you took a couple of bites of the food offered. The first bite was eye opening as you let your hunger take over.
You haven’t felt this happy and full since the last time you had a hearty meal back at home.
While you finished whatever that remained, you stopped as you sensed a strong force of energy coming towards you all. You stood up, food still being chewed as you looked around. Then as if it were magic, a man appeared out of thin air.
This must be the boy’s father as the boy looked a lot like him.
He looked towards you and gave a friendly smile. The woman and the boy seemed to be updating him on what had happened. He nodded a couple of times as he approached you. Again, you were on the defense.
This didn’t deter him from taking another step closer with his hand outstretched. Hesitation was gnawing at you. His smile hadn’t faltered– radiating a calm field of energy.
What else do you have to lose?
His grip was gentle as you held onto his hand. He said something to the young boy and woman before the two of you teleported away.
One second you were out in the dirt field and now you found yourself in a center that was buzzing with activity everywhere you looked.
The man released your hand before gesturing to you to follow him with a simple head wave. You nod as it was the only way for you two to communicate at the moment.
The further you walked into this enormous structure, the more intrigued you were. This society was certainly advanced though not as advanced as what you had back home. You continued looking around but then stopped for a brief moment, seeing that a group of people were walking towards you two. It seems like the man warned them not to get any closer from how anxious you were getting.
Most likely what is happening is the man explaining everything to the group– their jaws dropped, eyes widened.
“WHAT? Say that one more time?” Yamcha exclaimed with Puar sharing the same reaction.
“You’re kidding? She’s from space? Then is she a Saiyan too?” Krillin questioned as he made eye contact with you.
“I don’t think so. Her energy doesn’t give me that sense. No tail either.” Goku gave his conclusion.
“What are you going to do now?” Eighteen asked calmly while readjusting to how she was holding Marron.
“I was hoping Bulma had something that could help us understand what she is saying.” Goku said cheerfully as Bulma made her entrance just in time.
It was a little awkward for you to stand there and watch them have this whole conversation. You really wished you understood what they were saying, whether good or bad.
“What’s going on here? Oh Goku, you’re here and… who’s this?” Bulma inquired as she walked closer with Trunks not far behind.
“You see…” Goku then explained everything to her, she was just as shocked as everyone else.
“HUH?” She was left speechless. “Well I’ll see what I can do. But I can't make any promises.”
“What’s going on?” Vegeta’s gruff voice echoed into the air as all heads turned to look at him.
“Hey Vegeta!” Goku light heartedly chuckled as he scratched the back of his head.
He ignores him as he then spots you. He seemed to have noticed something.
“That woman? Where did she come from? Why is she here?” Vegeta spoke demandingly.
“You know her?” Goku curiously asked as Vegeta got closer.
“You idiot. She’s not from earth, I know that for sure.” His gaze stayed hard as he scowled further.
“How’d you know?” Goku asked.
“Are you stupid, Kakarot?” He sighs, his arms now crossed. “Though the armor she is wearing seems familiar. She could be from the planet Xalaphor.”
Everyone was intrigued.
“What? So does that mean you can talk to her?” Goku and everyone else was hoping for that possibility.
With an annoyed sigh, Vegeta steps forward to make an attempt. Everyone stood around silently as they watched this exchange unfold.
“Do you understand me?” Vegeta spoke in your language though due to the way he enunciated some words it sounded off but understandable.
“Yes, I do.” You responded.
This was a massive breakthrough but no one said anything so far.
“Why did you come to this planet?” Such a simple question triggered you to have flashbacks.
Your mind raced with images of your home before it was destroyed. You stay silent for a minute as you get your emotions under control.
“My home has been destroyed… I have nowhere else to go.” You simply explained, eyes looking down, arms embraced close to your body.
Vegeta not wanting to push you any further, he stopped the conversation at that. He told everyone what you said and they now share looks of pity towards you. Now knowing what they know now, they seem eager to help you.
