Has it really been five years?!
Five years ago on March 6 which oddly enough was also a Sunday, I finally sat down and started watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic from the beginning and after seeing the pilot episodes was already hooked! I actually started out with "Feeling Pinkie Keen" a few weeks prior and only watched the latest episodes that would come out each weekend until spring break came around and I decided to just marathon all the first 13 episodes I hadn't seen yet. Needless to say I had no idea how much of an impact it would have on my life and how big of a fandom the show would amass! Back when I first decided I was in love with this show, I didn't even know what a "brony" was! I thought it was the fanmade term for male ponies or something! Well within the first few days of it, I didn't really know much about the fandom at all. I remember when I read a YouTube comment about someone mentioning Derpy Hooves and I thought they were talking about when Pinkie's legs were twitching in Feeling Pinkie Keen or something. Over time I started doing some research and found things like Equestria Daily, Odyssey Eurobeat's remixes, and all those silly crossover trailers on YouTube like PonyCraft 2 and then I finally started to realize just how crazy other people on the internet were about this show! Before you knew it we had all these other people doing remixes and then Friendship is Witchcraft came in and then they started doing meetups for "BroNYCon" which was like only a hundred or so people back then and of course it showed no sign of slowing down at all! Well those were good times to be had! Things sure have changed in the fandom and the show has changed too but we have wonderful memories nonetheless and I am looking forward to what will happen in both the show and the fandom! I've gained a lot of awesome friends as a result and my art has gotten much better and I'm really starting to find my niche not just in this fandom but I think in life too. I thank everyone who has watched my pony art and to those of you who were around five years ago and have still stuck around even through my transitioning into another fandom.
