(Kalamazoo, Michigan) We went to the so-called Celery City for my birthday last week to hear two concerts of the Gilmore Keyboard Festival and to walk about the fair city. Here are a few images from that lovely day in Ka’zoo:

Confessions of a questing activist. Part 11
One month after the 2006 Peace Camp at the Straits of Mackinaw there was The World Can't Wait, day of action on October 5th.
Scott Ritter, a former chief weapons inspector in Iraq, being interviewed by a reporter for WXMI the local FOX affiliate. I was in charge of all the press work for this event and I was amazed that ever news outlet we contacted showed up. Scott Ritter's book on Iran, which is kind of technical but still very relevant in the face of our country's efforts to build new diplomatic ties to Iran http://www.amazon.com/Target-Iran-Houses-Regime-Change-ebook/dp/B001T9MWOI/ref=la_B001HO9B80_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1397418471&sr=1-2 It is a good book but not the easiest of reads.
This is the hippie I mentioned before and this is him doing his amazing drum performance, which I have also mentioned before.
One of our members knew the guys from a punk band that rocked it out for an hour at the end of the day. The crappy audio system we had for microphones for the lead sing didn't work so we gave him the bullhorn we had been using all day. It was classic.
The best part about the end of the night concert was that this park is in the middle of downtown Kalamazoo and immediately across the street from where we were is the local Civic Players Theater. The elitist city snobs coming out of what ever show they had just seen gave us some of the nastiest looks. You could tell we were loud and had probably been heard from inside the Civic Auditorium. But it was some of the best times ever had.
