👀 Do you have any WIPs that you would never let see the light of day? If yes, what are they about?
🖊 Post a snippet from a current WIP.
thank you :D
Thanks for the ask Bronzie.

Not really? I have a few things brewing in my head, but if they're ready to come out, I will absolutely show them off (I'm pretty shameless in what I put on AO3/tumblr)

Technically I only have one WIP at the moment.
Rook on the Seventh Rank. I'm doing drabbles for it for the drabblecollective's November Drabble Challenge and I'm working on a long fic, too
I'll post a snippet from the long fic here (under the read more):

With her [Neve's] room sorted she made her way to the kitchen for some food; she tended to have nightmares if she slept on an empty stomach.
“Oh, hey Rook,” she said, surprised to find the other already there.
Rook was preparing something to eat, cutting something in front of her while a pot was bubbling on the stove. It smelled good, and unfamiliar.
“I hope I’m not interrupting. I just wanted to grab something quick to eat before heading to bed,” Neve said, stepping closer. “What are you cooking? It smells delicious.”
Rook looked at her quickly over her shoulder, acknowledging her, before she continued to cut several vegetables expertly.
“I’m making Aban Qalaba,” Rook answered. “It’s fish stew with rice and vegetables basically,” she explained. “I don’t know if it’s the real name for it either,” she shrugged.
Rook was finished cutting and threw a bunch of different vegetables and herbs into a second pot. Then she added some fish, tomatoes and some water and put the lid on the pot.
Neve was stumped at how relaxed Rook seemed, working with ease, displaying a routine Neve hadn’t expected.
“Aban Qalaba?” she asked, surprise evident in her voice. “That sounds Qunari.”
Rook stirred both pots before finally turning around, smirking a little. “It is,” she only stated, offering no further explanation.
“How do you know how to cook a Qunari dish?” Neve asked. Sure, there were places, especially in Treviso, where you could get Qunari dishes, but it was rarely humans who prepared those. Plus, they were few and far between.
Rook just smirked at her; it was clearly amusing to her that Neve couldn’t figure her out.
“You’re the detective,” she answered. “You’ll figure it out,” she added, winking at her. “Do you want some? It’s only a few more minutes, and I made enough for all of us anyway.”

Again, thank you for sending these. It's always fun to think about these asks and look at things from a different angle.
