Shout out to the tomb that knows a good joke when it hears one.
Okay so I finished Dying Light today and all I can think is just how badly Rais wanted Crane to be his narrative foil. He wanted Crane to be the Hero to his villain. He wanted to make Crane's actions to be fueled by revenge for what he's done. To fall just like him. Rais wants him angry, revenge filled and just as bitter as Rais himself. He wanted Crane to experience the horrors that was the Harran outbreak, to feel as if he was truly just a dog going to fetch. He wanted to believe that Crane with Tahir wasn't just him at his worst low. That it was Crane's truth
All while climbing up that last stretch he shouts it.
"Poor Rais Crane. So consumed with emotion. Burning with the need for revenge. Eaten alive by hatred. Such feelings make you weak!
YOU'RE PROJECTING PRETTY HARD BRO. He tries so many times to make Crane think like him to a desperate amount. Rais wanted Crane to be the justification that everyone would've done what he'd done and become what he had become. God, that's actually a really interesting angle for Rais who up until now I felt fell a bit flat. I really wish it had been more apparent. Or that this is the truth and not just surface level writing
In other news, I can’t believe Jonny and Alex sold out and started doing ads.
Can we get an F in the chat for Luke who’s going to have to deal with the assortment of colorfully dangerous people who are ride or die for Din and Grogu come to his doorstep to ensure the child is okay. Greef Karga coming in to make sure his grandson (And yes, that is his grandson and he will fight you on that) is getting a proper education with Cara in tow. Cara subtly flexes because okay, he blew up the (first) Death Star, but she had to watch Din lie face first on the floor the previous week for three hours. Boba who is the best and worst because he just pops up in random places, at a distance with Fennec to pose menacingly.
And now we know the reason Grogu took so long on Tython with his mediation. He just had to tell Luke about how amazing, cool, and strong his dad was. Maaaaaybe come show him more of that Jedi stuff but also here's how his dad killed a krayt dragon.
Sorry, I just remembered that Avatar’s were hating each other coupled with the fact that there’s no actual borders between the different Domains and that is the funniest f’ing thing. It’s as if your hand is sentient and also hates your right calf because their fractal chasing fools. Your middle finger and right ear got soul bound together until one of them died. The eyeball that’s been hanging on for 200 slutty years knows what’s up.
Din promised Grogu that they'd see each other again and not gonna lie, I believe that because it's Din. Sure, he's bent his words and deals before but that's uncommon. He made a promise to someone he loves and considers family to him and he's darn near impeccable with his word.
However, that doesn't mean I'm not gonna cry when they show how much he misses Grogu next season.
