On May 24, 2006, the first video was posted to the lonelygirl15 YouTube channel, entitled “Paytotheorderofofof vs. Dinosaur” Before the creators (Miles Beckett and Mesh Flinders) had found a cast for their webseries, a few videos were made and uploaded. And before the world knew Bree, some YouTubers were already taking the world by storm, including Emily, the girl behind the channel paytotheorderofofof2, thewinekone, kaiserro11, scream0 and brookers. After a decade, the power of YouTube can not be denied as it has grown to be a powerhouse of entertainment where anyone can reach a global audience. And just ten years ago, the hoax of lonelygirl15 was enough to shock and baffle that audience, cementing its place in internet history.

It works very well. She looks crazy and the idea is just good enough to hold it.

It’s self-refential and employ a lot of the tropes, she’s a not just a video maker, she’s a youtuber who know and loves youtube’s culture.

Yeah, she’s a real youtuber in that way. She knew what’s going on.
