Brookfield Depot
This wonderful old depot (built in 1867) has just been moved a distance from the rail line on which it sat (Milwaukee Road/Canadian Pacific). These are two images I made of it back in 1979 or so.
The train here is Amtrak’s North Coast Hiawatha, which was discontinued that year I believe. The train is being powered by two F40PHs; steam heat is provided (to the legacy cars behind) by an e-unit turned into a heater car.
If you’d like to see an article on the moving of the depot, please go here. Two images by Richard Koenig; taken in 1979.
