I’d like to read something from Inconsistency.

How about I share with you the prologue to Inconsistency? I think it sets the tone for the work rather well. I’ll admit that was one of the hardest narratives I’ve ever written.

I saw it coming.

That’s what they think I’ll say.

I could have prevented all of this if only you’d all listened to me!

Like some self-righteous savior they’ll put me on a pedestal with a vendetta against the world that shunned my ideas, that neglected my warnings.

Now you’re all going to suffer. The whole world is going to suffer!

I didn’t set out to save the world; it was all just a selfish endeavor to prove that my theories were correct, that my attention to detail mattered. The virus had spread faster that any of them expected and acted like a beacon for the ships to find us. Our troops immobilized, our defensive weaponry all but corrupted and controlled by forces whose hands were tied.

Here I sit, alone in darkness. Alone surrounded by power-hungry people who’d gorged themselves on the gullible and the weak. Waiting. Waiting for whatever those creatures planned to do with this dying planet.

The signs had been clear to me, I’d told them time again, tried to convince them. Maybe in the end it was right for them to suffer. Maybe in the end what they think I’m saying is true.

Now, at the end, I do think those things.  

But in the end none of it matters does it?
