Friday 5/26/17. Lewes Car Ferry to Cape May, NJ. Security checking under cars, dogs etc. Sat on the sunny side with three lovely, young, Swiss men, one IT, another Psychologist. Good hearing their perspective on our country. Another group from Spain. Drove along NJ coast. It is Memorial Day Weekend Friday. Traffic fleeing NY City was heavy but my direction was smooth sailing. Verrazano Bridge view was spectacular! Not able to stop for photo. I drove into Brooklyn, exiting Flushing Ave into a Hasidic Jewish community--traffic congested streets to my air bNb, allowing me to people watch and check out the scene. My nearby subway stop is Kingston-Throop, C line into town. My block was tree lined, street parking, and felt safe. Dinner at 10:30 PM at Tree House, Afro-Caribbean restaurant near by with Allie Lang, a young woman who grew up in Ft Bragg. I have known her since age 3-4. Sweet to have a NY City adventure with her now. The jerked shrimp, crab cakes, salad and light hint of cinnamon spiced sweet potato fries was delicious. The guests out on the patio fun to watch and talk to.
