Brooklyn Beckham Gives His First Interview Ever

It looks like Brooklyn Beckham might want to follow in his mom and dad’s footsteps.

The 16-year-old appears on the cover of Miss Vogue’s October issue, in which he gives his first interview ever. Though the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham sticks to safe topics like style and his famous parents, he does reveal a few cute tidbits about himself. 

In the excerpt released Thursday, he names James Dean and Steve McQueen as his style icons, and when asked which parent gives the best fashion advice, he stays neutral, wisely replying that “both” do. “My mum knows a lot about fashion, but obviously I listen to my dad as he has great style and we share clothes,” he notes. 

There are more perks to being the son of two Hollywood A-listers, though. When asked to recall his most starstruck moment, Brooklyn tells the mag, “I felt very humble when my parents took me to meet Stephen Hawking [in May].”

With 4.2 million followers, David and Victoria Beckham’s oldest child, Brooklyn Beckham, has mastered the art of social media and now he’s ready to spread his knowledge among the peons. The 16 year old, whose own Instagram is almost entirely made up of black and white photos, has teamed up with Miss Vogue to share his top tips for posting the perfect picture.

While he says to throw the selfie stick away, he admits selfies are still totally in, so long as they don’t dominate your profile.

“Don’t forget to look for interesting things going on around you,” he says in the video guide. And while filters can be fun, he says, “don’t forget to chill out from time to time.”

Harper Beckham Wanting to Play Football is "A Dagger Through the Heart" for Mom Victoria

Victoria Beckham is famously tight-lipped at her fashion shows, letting her sophisticated clothes speak for themselves. Since showing her debut collection in 2008, Beckham’s gone from a curiosity to a respected industry figure, with over 500 stockists and a stable of loyal customers.

In an exclusive interview with Good Morning America, Beckham reflects on the launch of her collection, “I wasn’t out to prove anybody wrong, I just wanted to prove to myself that I could do it,” and why she’s kept at it: “I’m very passionate about what I do. I want to make women feel empowered and like the best version of themselves. I want to make them look beautiful and feel sexy and confident. That’s exciting for me.”

Beckham, along with husband David, might frequently post images of her four beautiful kids to social media, but she doesn’t talk about them much. On GMA, she says that Brooklyn, who just posed for the cover of Teen Vogue, wants to be a photographer. Of Harper, the only girl in the family, she says, “She loves fashion, as all little girls do. She loves putting makeup on and playing with my shoes, but she also loves sports. She said to me the other day: ‘Mummy, I think I want to play football.’ Dagger through the heart! I have three boys who want to play football, you know?”
