Interior, Broughton Castle, Oxfordshire, fortified manor house which has been in the Fiennes family since 1377. Built in 1300 by Sir John de Broughton, the house was sold in 1377 to William of Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester, and in 1451, it passed by inheritance to the Fiennes family. Beginning in 1550, it underwent a major renovation into a manor house of the Tudor style.
