-Nicholas Browne-
[Rice's] grand achievement in Memnoch the Devil is the writing of a modern-day Divine Comedy. Interestingly, however, her most hostile critics don't recognize in her novel this marvelous accomplishment...If anything other than a "quick fix" of fear appears in Rice's gothic writing, some of her reviewers yammer that something has gone dreadfully wrong with her story...her latest vampire novel is disappointing, they argue, and, because of their own ignorance of the important history of genre, they miss entirely her point in the novel...This is a book about religion, salvation, and personal confession...Regarding Memnoch's ongoing debate with God about mercy, Rice's novel also echoes John Milton's religious epic Paradise Lost

i understand why jokingly threatening suicide is a very bad practice and why we, as a society, take it so seriously. I really do, BUT I really want to post "If Breznick doesn't become canon I will kill myself" as a goof without it being sandwiched between the explanation you're now reading.
What follows is not Breznick related just my thoughts on the show:
Recently, I've been watching The Good Doctor. I started because I wanted to see how badly it represented autism after it became a meme a few weeks back. I'm sorry to report that although the first season is kind of rough it drastically improves over time. I'm only on Season 4 (so no spoilers if Breznick does become canon) and it's just a good medical show at this point. Not as good as House, but what is? Also, there's an episode where a guy has auto-brewery syndrome, which is my favorite rare medical condition. If this show ever does an episode with genetic chimerism I'll be elated.
