Is the Brownpaw apprenticed to Stumptail the same Brownpaw that was Brokentail’s apprentice?

NEW LORE: Brokenstar mentored Brownpaw for, like, ten seconds, foisted him upon Stumptail, and then sent the kid to die regardless.

Who did Brokenstar mentor to be eligible for deputy?

He didn't. Raggedstar made him deputy with the promise that he'd be given an apprentice in time, to the shock of the Clan - at that point, Raggedstar wouldn't hear a word against his son, so he kept him on board despite protests. Brokentail eventually got Brownpaw, was a terrible mentor, and ultimately sent Brownpaw to his death on a "secret, super special mission" because the apprentice questioned him one time too many.
