"and talk about different vibes, when marner was traded here to vegas he was supposed to be on the wing of jack eichel, but due to injuries to eichel and william karlsson, bruce cassidy put him to center, and there he has stayed. cassidy praising to us prior to the game about marner's ability to cover the ice, to kill plays, and his reads. he says he hasn't missed a beat. and that comes to no surprise to his longtime teammate, john tavares. tavares told me this morning, marner is the smartest player he has ever played with. talk about some praise right there. he says his hockey sense is exceptional and second to none. although one person who was surprised, auston matthews, who says, I didn't even know he was playing center."
