Bruce Parker has known one thing his whole life; saving people, hunting things–the goddamn family business. Being born into a family of bloodline hunters, it’s all Bruce has ever known, and that’s just fine. He was made for this life, he’s good at it. Once he turned 18, he hit the road and never looked back.
Couple of rules to making it out there… work alone. Sure, he’s teamed up now and again, but he makes a point of keeping everyone at arm’s length. Don’t get too close, don’t get too weak. Bruce knows how dangerous his life is and he’s not going to drag anyone down with him. Right?
Krystal McReid is the best, wildest, bloodline hunter he ever met. The two of them together? Fire meets gasoline. They both understood the life, both knew that nothin’ lasts forever. And then… Krys was pregnant. Bruce was a born screw-up and there was no way in hell he could be a father, so he bailed.
Life went on, the same old, same old. Bruce still hadn’t gone down in a blaze of glory when he met Laurel Whitlock. She changed everything for him. And now here he is, back in Havensdale, the last place he ever thought he’d step foot in again.
