Last but not least was The Black Queen. Dillinger Escape Plan are one of my live music highlights. And I've seen a lot of bands. So I knew Greg Puciato could perform. I knew he could sing. But The Black Queen are a very different band. But the intensity, sensuality, passion and beauty came across so well. He was so into it. The set had the pulse quickening beats, the euphoric moments and the deep dark sadness that make this band so great. Next up was Tennis System. I was surprised by this band from the off. I didn't expect woozy shoe gazey indie at all. Think Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine and Smashing Pumpkins early work kind of all rolled into one. Aggressive yet dreamy. Last night saw myself and @scary_mi head to the Brudanell Socal Club for Kanga, Tennis System and The Black Queen. It was a great evening with quite a few friends making the trip from all over the place. It was nice to have a chat with everyone. First up was @k.a.n.g.a who was great. But it was Monday, the crowd was a little thin (maybe expecting her to be on later I don't know) so it all seemed a bit muted.
