So no one else has to bullshit the Japanese ship name and almost give up before finding it: Fubru/sticky haze tag on pixiv!
It's tough, living with the feelings of your own needs being inherently wrong - Fugo knows that it's not the way to do so, either. But even if he recognises those feelings as completely irrational, he can't stop himself from freezing up whenever he notices his own arousal, and neither can he stop his breath from speeding up, nor the dire need to somehow rid himself of it altogether.
Even as he tries to normalise it to himself in any means he can think of, time and time again, his emotions become too overwhelming far too easily.
To him, Bucciarati is the only person he can trust. It's both reassuring and scary, thinking about how the only person he can trust also has such urges. Such urges as the person who ruined his life, and, sometimes - unfortunately - such urges as his own; so, confronting him about the ryhthic sounds he hears sometimes in the evenings becomes inevitable.
As such, over several evenings, Bruno helps Fugo to slowly ease into his own sexuality and make peace with his feelings, staying patient - no matter how many times it causes him to be mere moments away from the release that keeps building up, forcing himself to ignore it and comfort Fugo to the best of his ability.
Sticky haze to Bucciarati is probably different than what it is to Fugo. I do not think they would be on the same page in regards to their relationship.
If their relationship starts early on in regards to them meeting, I don't think Bucciarati would have realized the power he would have over Fugo. It would be maybe like a boss sleeping with his secretary, or even two fucked up kids who joined the mob finding solace in each other.
Fugo was not ever in a situation where Bucciarati wasn't some form of authority figure to him. I think the level of authority and expected deference would increase with time and with Bucciarati's notoriety, but he was always above Fugo because he saved him.
I think it makes them interesting. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they had stayed soldatos, growing up together in a way. But in just a few years, Bucciarati takes on a very different role, while Fugo stays where he started (underneath him).
"Older and Taller" by Regina Spektor is Fugo thinking about Bucciarati to me
My favorite Brufugo hot take is that Bucciarati never really had time for relationships, so the only relationship close to romantic was Fugo , They both basically live a relationship like two married people, especially when it was just the two of them in the gang. Fugo certainly realized this and is very happy to have Bucciarati as his husband, While Bucciarati just thinks it's a super normal relationship between a right-hand man and his boss 😭
