I'm Ember, and this is my Encanto OC, Nina!

Nina's family farm is on the opposite side of the Encanto from Casita, and is responsible for the majority of goats and milk in the village. She is a (barely veiled self-insert) character I created to ship with Bruno.

Nina is a bit of a weirdo herself, but takes great pride in that fact. She's a whimsical and bisexual dork, who loves to sing and absolutely loves fireflies. Nina is exactly what the Madrigals need in their lives after Casita falls, being someone who appreciates people's imperfections.

In her life she has had to face ridicule, chronic pain, and loneliness. But none of it holds her back for long.

Yo saw your OC on a list from another creator, and finally an OC for Bruno that isn’t perfect and is awkward like him. So many OC’s that are like perfect 💯 ’s and like no hate to them. An your character is still cute, but like makes sense u no? And she simped for him first?! I don’t think I saw that before.

Hi there!

I'm so glad you like Nina! I'll admit, she's gotten a decent dose of myself mixed into her, so knowing that other people enjoy her means a lot. (She becomes rather bolder around people than I have, I'm afraid. Something to try to live up to, I suppose. lol)

I wanted to make another "village oddball" character, but one who has embraced that role for some time, cherishes imperfections, and would be a balanced addition to the Madrigal family after the events of the movie. They all needed to learn to accept that they aren't perfect and need help to cover for their weak points. A new Tia that is excellent at doing just that can provide some assistance in that area.

I also wanted to create a character with some kind of health issues and chronic pain, since I deal with that quite a bit myself and it can mean a lot to see that representation in people's OCs. (Nina's aren't quite as bad as mine, I want her to be able to do a bit more than I can because hey its still a fantasy! But I definitely wanted to bring some of my chronic health experiences to her story.)

Another character I know of that simped for Bruno early on in her life, is socially awkward, and doesn't fit the "conventionally attractive" definition is Núria, @lord-madmyth's OC. So if those are traits that interest you, I highly recommend her as well!
