This is Mitzi, my Caturday’s submission. Like all of my cats she has a collar with an ID tag and microchip. She is special because she has Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. Most people don’t know that animals can become anemic, and I’m happy to educate everyone about it. She was an adoption cat at our hospital when her illness was discovered. Unfortunately it can be expensive to treat so the decision was made to remove her from the floor. The committee made her available for the staff to adopt but if nobody would take her she would be euthanized. I couldn’t let her die just because she was sick so she came home with me. She was on many medications for months to try to stimulate red cell growth. After just over a year her disease is finally in remission (albeit temporarily) and she’s a happy girl! If you learned something from this would you please allow me to brush your hair for a while? It’s been a very challenging day and I would find it very soothing, my darling Prince.
