When contouring with powders, opt for brushes which are small and soft, yet dense. This will allow you to apply the product and buff it into the skin for a seamless finish.

When choosing a Lip Brush- it’s best to choose one with shorter dense, synthetic bristles and with a slightly curved tip. This will assist in better controlling your lip colour application and won’t leave a streaky finish. 🖌👄

MAKEUP BRUSHES
DONT LET THE NAMES OF BRUSHES MISGUIDE YOU. ONE BRUSH CAN BE USED FOR PLENTY OF THINGS. A BLUSH BRUSH CAN BE USED FOR BLUSH BRONZING & HIGHLIGHT.
WHAT WORKS FOR YOU WITH ONE BRUSH MAY NOW WORK THE SAME WITH ANOTHER PERSON. THERE ARE SOME ART BRUSHES THAT YOU CAN FIND AT YOUR LOCAL WALMART, JOANNS, & MICHAELS THAT YOU CAN USE TO APPLY CONCEALER, EYELINER. YOU CAN ALSO USE PLENTY OF THESE BRUSHES TO APPLY FOUNDATION, BUT YOU CAN BLEND IT OUT WITH A BEAUTY BLENDER.
BARELY LEARNING HOW TO USE A BRUSH? GRAB THE BRUSH AT THE END WHEN USING IT FOR A LIGHTER HAND.
DONT KNOW WHAT KIND OF BRUSH TO BUY? ELF CARRIES A VARIETY OF BRUSHES FOR THE FACE THAT ARE 3 DOLLARS OR UNDER. THEY HAVE 2 DIFFERENT COLLECTIONS. EXPERIMENT WITH THESE BRUSHES & WHEN YOU KNOW YOU ARE READY YOU CAN PURCHASE OTHER BRUSHES THAT YOU WANT.
Makeup Brushes.
What I think is necessary for anyone who wants to apply makeup to the best of their ability. I think brushes are most necessary because to me, you can get such good coverage with them. You can either use brushes, sponges or your fingers, but I feel brushes give most even coverage. The different kinds of brushes ;
FOUNDATION :
classic brush - fastest, but prone to streaking.
stippling brush - gives a flawless effect, but does take longer.
buffing brush - easiest to use, best for beginners. it blends the foundation in better, but you can't get into every nook. it isn't as precise as the other choices.
CONCEALER :
concealer brush - there's generally only one type for concealer.
POWDER :
powder brush - all over powder brush, most common. you can use this for any area of face, including setting under eye concealer.
contour brush - used to contour (slim the face), angled.
kabuki brush - isn't as precise as other powder brushes, better for big areas.
fan brush - fanning out powder in all areas, a light dusting of powder normally.
BLENDING :
blending brush - most important in my opinion, it can blend in bronzer or take the edges off blush, and blend foundation in to your skin after applied with another brush.
BLUSH :
blush brush - only one type, smaller than a normal powder brush.
EYE MAKEUP :
eyeshadow brush - used for lid.
crease brush - used in your crease, normally a darker shade is used than the lid color and the brush is more pointed.
smudge brush - for smokey eyes mainly, it helps smudge the shadow. it has denser and shorter bristles.
liner brush - can be slanted or straight, it is used for gel or 'cake' liners (you can wet eyeshadow or the brush to use an eyeshadow as a liner too.)
