Hello! I'm Ink, and this is Nightmare. These brushes will be from Clip Studio, and are all free! To download them, look up their names on the asset store.

To start our menu, here's "Sol", the current brush phase of @syxadel. Its main strengths lie in line art. It has an unadjustable opacity, but the layered brush strokes look really nice.

After "Sol" is the "Oil paint" brush, which comes with the clip studio program as far as I'm aware. It does work well for sketching or doodling, but doesn't lend well to fine lines or line-art. It can also blend nicely for painting, and is the main (only) paint brush in @syxadel's repertoire.

There's also this pencil brush that came in a pack of writing brushes for Japanese sound effects/kanji from the asset store. I could be wrong, though. I honestly don't remember how this got here. It's not my favorite, but if you zoom out a lot, and maybe crank the brush level down, it looks okay. It's also pretty decent for writing.

Then, we have the "line-art pencil". I'm not sure how or when this guy got in here. This pencil is good for high detail work with a lot of sketching or light lines, like drawing feathers, shadows, or semi-realistic figures. It feels a bit greasy sometimes, but it works well.

Oh yeah! There's also these watercolor brushes that have super nice textures. These were downloaded off of the clip asset store, they're free, and I have no idea where they came from!

That Moira & Mercy fanart is just gorgeous! Could you share with us your brush settings on that one? Bc the lines and colour blending is just sublime!

Absolutely! I use Paint Tool SAI when doing digital art c: 

The main brush I use for the lines and most of the shading is this one; 

I play around with the dilution when I see necessary, but most of the time it’s around 30-50. 

The colors were basic flat colors under slightly shaded line layer, done with the following settings 

Then last but not least, I also use my blur brush from time to time! Its settings are as follows

How to turn a Crack in the Ground into Lightning~A Photoshop Tutorial

Welcome to the very first ever tutorial here on spdy4′s Art Methods. I’m @spdy4 and today I’m going to share a cute little tutorial I did the other day.

So have you ever looked at a crack in the ground and thought.

“That would make a really cool lightning brush!” Well today I am going to show you how to do that!.

STEP 1: Take a picture!

Find any old crack in the ground, in the sidewalk, street, ground, wall, Any crack will work!, For tutorial purposes I’ll use this Crack I found, outside of a WalMart.

STEP 2 - 4: Adjust like crazy!!!

(Step 2) First you want to take your photo and make it black in white! (I’m using my iPhone to do most of the work.) 

(Step 3) use the following B&W settings shown. The after you do that we move into. 

(Step 4) Adjust your lighting and use the following settings shown in Step 4.

STEP 5 - 7: Transfer & clean up!

(Step 5) This step is to just admire your work so far.

(Step 6) This step however is where we transfer the photo you took & adjusted, and sending it to your computer. (I uploaded the photo to DropBox on my phone, then I logged into a computer, grabbed it, and cleaned up the black specks in Photoshop. This way only your black crack/lightning bolt will be the only thing on screen.

(Step 7) Creating your Brush! Select everything using Ctrl A. Then Use your Magic Wand Tool and deselect the white areas using Ctrl and Left Click on your mouse. Then when Only the Crack/Lightning is selected. Go to Edit > Define Brush Preset, name your Brush Lightning 1, click OK and Tada! You got yourself a Lightning Brush!

Step 8: Pizazz~*

So now we have a Lightning brush, but how can we make it even better? SPECIAL EFFECTS! On Photoshop, go to Filter > Layer Style > Outer Glow, use the Following settings above and tada!

You just turned, a Crack in the ground, into a Lightning Bolt! I hope you like this tutorial and if you want more tutorials, please reblog and like this post.
