6, 19, and 27 for the ghosts.
((*cracks knuckles* Under a cut for length!))
6. What were they like at school? Did they enjoy it? Did they finish? What level of higher education did they reach? What subjects did they enjoy? Which did they hate?
Gawain: Star student who graduated valedictorian from high school. He didn’t enjoy it per say, but he didn’t hate it, either. Died before he could go to college. Loved chemistry, meteorology, and physics, but struggled with world history.
Callahan: Back-of-the-class troublemaker who still somehow got passing grades. Fled the country at 16 and had to test back into the American school system. Predictably good at Phys Ed., and surprisingly good at Home Ec., but terrible at English.
Lewis: Above-average student who didn’t stand out but didn’t fall behind, either. Enjoyed the friends he made there more than the classes he took. Died before he could go to college. Aced culinary art and home ec., but didn’t do so well in calculus.
Dulce: Never went to school. She got just enough of an education to be able to work at her caretaker’s tavern, and a little bit extra from Sister Ava when she visited the church. She enjoys learning new things, but struggles with reading, and dislikes math.
Richard: Decent student who probably should have spent less time volunteering and more time studying. Got through graduate school but never used his degrees. Breezed through his Spanish classes, but struggled with chemistry.
Brushfire: Never ‘officially’ went through any formal schooling, but self-taught himself whatever he found interesting.
19. What’s their least favourite genres?
Gawain: Cyberpunk.
Callahan: Romance.
Lewis: Satire.
Dulce: Horror.
Richard: Horror.
Brushfire: Westerns.
27. What makes them sad? Do they cry regularly? Do they cry openly or hide it? What are they like they are sad?
Gawain: Thoughts about his parents, the friends he wishes he could see again, and feeling left out of Arthur and Lance’s life. Doesn’t like to cry, and feels embarrassed when he does. Will find an excuse to leave/fly away/turn invisible when crying so he won’t be seen.
Callahan: Thoughts of his hometown, the friends he left behind there, and what-ifs about the life he might have had if his bio parents had been a bit more loving. Once cried over a Pomeranian that looked like a toasted marshmallow. Immediately got angry and tried to play it off as having an eyelash in both eyes. Nobody believed him, but nobody called him out on it, either.
Lewis: Thinking too much about what could have happened back before he was snapped out of his Anger phase, and hearing his family make inside jokes that were created while he was gone. Cries over sad anime death scenes and when he accidentally burns his cupcakes with his ghostfire. Has to go to a specially warded room when he can’t get himself together to keep from burning down the apartment. Will cry until he feels better, then go looking for hugs.
Dulce: Thinking for too long about her son, losing one of the cats in her colony, and being told she’s stupid for not picking up English reading skills after a hundred years. Will wail and sob and cause a scene to slight the person/thing that upset her. Is not above dropping to her knees/collapsing to the floor in a boneless heap for added effect. Will get very quiet and hide when actually, legitimately upset.
Richard: Seeing his grandson touching his photo shrine for luck and lingering an extra second, and finding another Probie at a call out. Physically cannot cry. Doesn’t seem to express much of any emotion, let alone sadness. The Probies say that they cry for him when he ‘feels bad’ because being sad alone is worse.
Brushfire: Thoughts of the man he wanted to marry, and his own slow, agonizing death. Hasn’t cried since the 1800s. Claims he shed his last tear at his lover’s last breath. Still gets sad on the anniversary of Adam’s death, and spends the day sulking out in the desert from sunrise to sunset with only Adam the horse for company.
