one thing i genuinely love about welcome to night vale and the progression of the show is that cecil isn’t perfect and his opinions aren’t necessarily moral or kind and they definitely don’t reflect the opinions of the entire town. he is the voice of night vale, but he’s also just cecil and he had outdated ideas about certain things and is selfish and can be (and has been so many times!!) proven wrong about what he held to be true. as someone who has been listening the show (and held the episodes as part of my everyday/every month routine) since i was eleven, it was so nice to have a narrator that can change his mind and isn’t just Right all the time and i’m afraid that’s what’s missing from a lot of young adult/preteen media now because of the declining rates of media literacy
